Intense licorice
Intensely licorice. Odd mailing -- just came in its own plastic bag -- but it worked and product is great.

Delicious, but you have to enjoy very strong salt taste!
Very salty and sour! Love them as a treat, others have tried, but they are an acquired taste!

Very salty llicorice, will give you the pucker you crave.
There are really salty, it this is what you are craving this will do it. But, past the halfway point it gets really gooey and sticks to the teeth. However, if you want the salty, tart licorice flavor, it'll do it!

Addictive
These are the real deal if you like your salty Dutch licorice. It's not to everyone's taste so beware. The negative reviews on flavour are from people who shouldn't have bought double salt licorice in the first place. This is exactly the stuff I became addicted to in Amsterdam 30 years ago. Sadly, I've just check my blood sugar and will be rationing my intake. The body isn't what it was 30 years ago.

No salt, no anise flavor.
So-called 'Double Salt' licorice did not contain ANY sodium chloride, i.e., salt. Instead, it had ammonium chloride, which is chemically a salt, but not SALT. No detectible anise flavor, which is universal in US licorice candies. This Dutch treat seems to ignore US labeling rules -- I'd think unlawfully. Yes, it tastes very salty, but I'd never call it licorice in the US without any anise flavor; licorice gum is included but not the traditional anise flavor that accompanies licorice gum in the US.

Authentic Double Salt Dutch Licorice
When most people think of licorice they think of a variety of sweet, chewy, treats and the black licorice is indicative of the anise flavor. In this case, the anise flavor is complemented with salt rather than sugar and it is a flavor combination that you would probably only encounter if you had traveled or lived overseas. I lived in Denmark from the time I was 8 years old until I was 11 and that is when I discovered salty licorice. I also lived in Germany when I was 15 until I was 18 and the German double-salt licorice is fantastic. The sweet varieties were also available but there is something about the salt variety that is equally delicious, once you become acclimated to the flavor. I would recommend this particular package for anyone who is accustomed to enjoying double-salt licorice, which is an acquired taste as I mentioned, as it is of excellent quality and the anise to salt ratio is exactly what one would expect from the double-salt variety. It brings back many fond memories of when I lived in Denmark and Germany and I'm certain that it would be appreciated by anyone who in familiar with double-salt licorice.

Very Salty!
I’m am giving it a positive review even though I didn’t like it… I neglected to notice when I ordered it that this is what I call “Dutch style black licorice” very, very salty. I gave it to a friend who likes this type of licorice… and he loved it.

The best DZ
This has now become my favorite double-salted (DZ) licorice. This type of black-licorice candy or confection, sometimes just referred to as just salt licorice or salmiak, exists in many popular forms and varieties throughout northern Europe. *It is said by many to be an acquired taste.* That was my warning. I wouldn’t know for myself because I was much too young to remember if I acquired it. I just know I love it. If you know you love salmiak, in all of its beautiful forms, I highly recommend this product! If you are not familiar with salmiak, you could first try ordering a smaller package of salmiak black licorice, first to see if the taste is something “acquirable” for you. https://www.amazon.com/Venco-Double-Licorice-4-2339-Ounce/dp/B0CJ91LBV7/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=5A13RSF9Q2KW&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.TUWDqG1R3xZ0O40zAl-2W8Ur9FpMquYlHSrvpf_p7i7ZWwaK03xU1D0p_a6DNWAnD3gNxWRPHyd06CZzISY62INc-jYCBOAZ1Zep95VzJmuyU95ZfEaa2mE8hCagS8YpwMYM43YyKL0XxaQt9Z7wnENuxXuLR06KY7dL67TfX2RGAHq8QmJJa6aNyQJhcR3WRD2JfgdXKw4DviFSB3F5WQ.eROjhdpqjblp8KNj2rxf0le0cWZaAYgLB8TfQTMnc7Y&dib_tag=se&keywords=venco+dutch+licorice&qid=1731206979&sprefix=venco%2Caps%2C178&sr=8-4

The candies are top quality, the problem is with the expiring date. The packets I received are best just for four months after the delivery...
