ELP - Classic Techno-Rock!
If you're thinking of buying this album - DO IT! Classic ELP. Just look at the tracks - From the Beginning, lulls you into a false sense of quietness and then you get Jerusalem, an up-to date hymn but you don't need to be religious to appreciate it. Fanfare for the Common Man is probably their biggest 'commercial' piece, vying with Father Christmas but It's VERY ELP. To my mind the real 'classical' ELP tracks are Tarkus and Karn Evil but I bet you can't play Hoedown without getting a bit excited! Trilogy (both the track and album)was - is - an outstanding piece of work and Lucky man, from their first album still shines through - do yourself a favour, buy this then buy all the individual albums - you won't be disappointed. By the way, Carl Palmer is THE best technical drummer in the world - I am slightly biased being a drummer meself (Carl, if you read this, I could do with a few lessons!)Seriously, treat yourselves and enjoy

Track Listing From the Beginning You Lucky Man.
There seems to be a whole slew of Emerson Lake and Palmer 'Best Of' releases. This is a good stab but I believe that there are better collections which are more inclusive and cheaper. All are slightly different with occasional tracks substituted. My advice is to buy the cheapest double CD that all the tracks you want and more.BUT this 'best of' does not have the actual track listing, at the time or writing, making your choice of which set to get impossible so here it is.Track Listing1.
