Highly practical for my goals
Evening Primrose Oil was recommended by Mr. Stirling Cooper for a specific routine, which I cannot be too explicit about here (if you know, you know). It's a great tool for moisturizing and keeping the skin healthy and elastic. Its fatty acids are very beneficial as well, read about it. A downside is the smell, which does not go away easily. Any tips for that?

I first started buying Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) after researching natural cures for acne. I'd been eating super healthy for months on end, taking excellent care of my skin, and couldn't figure out how to clear up my skin (I later learned that my primary issue were the parabens in many of my skin and hair products and going paraben free took care of the majority of my acne)... I read that EPO helps eliminate the white sebum under the skin that causes white heads so I gave it a shot. Of course at first after taking it, you'll experience some whiteheads as your skin purges the gunk but after a while, it really clears the skin of them completely! I had to take them for over a month, 1-3 times per day (depending on how often I remembered) before I really saw the total difference. The other benefit I saw after a month or so was that my PMS pain was greatly reduced and my breast tenderness in the days prior to my cycle was completely gone. I now recommend this supplement to almost everyone I know, it has so many health benefits! If I miss it for a few days I notice the difference in my skin pretty quickly. I now only take one a day, sometimes twice a day during PMS times. Here is the supplement version I recommend, Evening Primrose Oil 1300mg Royal Brittany Twin Pack American Health Products 12 I've read research that explains how EPO can help remove plaque from the arteries and how it can help alleviate arthritic pain. I use this oil to make an essential oil mix for family members with arthritis. (I mix it with other oils that smell better and have other health benefits.) They say it helps with their pain. My husband also takes it as I've read that it can help with tinnitus as well. He couldn't tell you if it helps or not but I know he doesn't complain about his tinnitus bothering him like he did before he was taking it. Highly recommend both the supplement and the topical oil. Smile. Hope this is helpful!

It smells like nuts. Nuts as in peanuts ya dirty minders. The scent is only mild, it's actually not a huge deal. After I discovered that primrose oil could help with hormonal acne, I decided to give this a try. I have purchased oils from this brand before and had good results. I hate that it has to be refrigerated but that's just the nature of the product. I did some research for natural remedies for hormonal acne and learned that you could try either taking the primrose oil as a supplement or using the oil directly on your face as a topical treatment/moisturizer. I decided to go the moisturizer way as I have quite dry skin and I already began taking spearmint tea capsules for my acne which helped a LOT. I mix together the primrose oil with my all time favorite oil- coconut oil (which also has acne fighting properties) forming my own special concoction. I put 3 small drops in my night moisturizer, mix it and apply. It makes me look like somewhat of a grease ball but by morning my skin is sooo smooth. I didn't care for it as an oil moisturizer on its own but I don't really enjoy using oil by itself as a moisturizer anyway. Good product!

I have combination skins with some mild breakouts and dry cheeks. I'm big on facial oils (I had great results with argan oil), and I had to try EPO that is known to be good for both acne & aging skin. Comparing to argan oil & squalane, this oil feels slightly thicker, but it does not leave grease like some other oils do. This oil takes a bit longer to be absorbed in my skin, but after it's gone my skin feels tighter, which never happened with other oils like argan or avocado oil. For the price I paid this was a steal. The only cons I noticed is the scent -- I was picturing more like woody, or flowery scent, but this oil smells like...vegetable oil. I don't think it's rancid or anything because it has shown great results on my skin, but I added a few drops of essential oils (such as rose, lavender and tea tree) to use.

I started using primrose oil about a year ago, and it is a fantastic moisturizer. It can help with skin issues, including acne. I have issues with milia (small white bumps that can appear near the eyes and other parts of the body) and primrose oil has been great with clearing that issue quickly. I started my primrose experience by using Aubrey Organics Primrose Oil, which is a thicker oil and feels a bit more luxurious and moisturizing. In terms of feel and application, there is a real difference between Aubrey and NOW. The NOW product runs down the face quickly. The Aubrey product moves much more slowly. The absorption is different, too. Aubrey absorbs more quickly than the NOW product. The NOW product is fine and the bottle is certainly ample in size and will last me a long time if only used on the face. I think, however, that once gone, I will likely return to Aubrey or explore another option.
