I’ve used sea salt spray, dry clay, and texture powder, but I think this will be my go to! I’ve yet to use both sea salt spray and this pomade, but first impressions are great. Citrus scented, not too heavy. The amount of texture and volume you desire is definitely dependent on how much product you use! A little generally goes a long way. Unlike texture powder and like products, it’ll leave your hair smooth and NOT coarse. It has minimal shine and a somewhat wet look. For hair that was recently shampooed and conditioned, I was surprised to find that it creates a quality look with separation, volume, texture, layering, and shine. I have a mod cut/shag and even used it to shape sideburns. Price is a bit hefty but considering you’ll use minimal amounts, it’ll last.

Applied in the morning, still in place by evening. Firm hold actually means firm hold. Doesn't flake, harden, or get crusty throughout the day. Survives wind and moderate humidity without losing shape. The natural oils keep hair flexible rather than stiff, so it moves but stays styled. A small amount goes a long way, and the 2oz jar lasts months. Washes out easily when you're done. Worth the premium price for a pomade that actually lasts. Decent scent.

If you are a guy looking for true all day hold for your hair, look no further than Malin + Goetz Hair Pomade. Without weighing down your hair or adding any greasiness or clubs, the M + G Pomade keeps your hair in place all day long. Doesn't matter if you wear a hat, get caught in a wind storm, whatever. Just work it in while your hair is still damp, comb or brush it, and you're done. I've used gels and sprays on my flighty hair. They typically work for a few hours, but once you 'break' their hold (like run your fingers through your hair), they're done. Not this product. While it does make my hair feel thicker, it's never greasy and it's easy to get out in the shower. Why four stars? It's $22. At a lower price, it would be a five all the way.

Where has this product been my whole life?! I was actually recommended this product by ChatGPT since my Asian hair does not like being tamed and I have seborrheic dermatitis. This product provides the perfect amount of touchable hold, it doesn’t add any unnatural shine, and it lasts all day long (multiple days, actually 👀). It has a lovely, natural citrus scent and the tiniest bit goes a long way. I recommend warming it up with warm, dry fingers. I feel like I’m never going to run out of this, but when I do, I will absolutely be repurchasing!

Really hit-or-miss when ordering this product from Amazon. If fresh/new, it’s a great, light, easy-to-washout pomade (scent is only okay, but hold is more important to me). However, sometimes when ordering from Amazon, it arrives super caky and dried out. Just inconsistent.

Been using this pomade for years. Clean matte finish with good hold on damp hair. Best to work into hands before applying.

Great product when purchased from dept stores—the one received from Amazon was dried out…the product filled about half of the container, and was cake-y and crumbly instead of thick/creamy/pasty like it usually is.
