Using them on the end of a coolgrows 2-1 grow tent. Just wish there was a dimmer addon. For when using for seedlings. Nice for herbs like basil and cilantro. Have to keep them high off the plant, cause they tend to make the basil flower. They put out a little heat too. Since I use them in a basement a little heat is welcome. Using a fan, I assume will help keep it cool in the summer. So far so good. If I have any issues or revelations I will update. Grow tasty food! Update: April 2022. I have to say these lights put out hardly any heat. My earlier assesment was wrong. I really like these lights. Bright and really make my young dahlias grow well. Getting them ready for the garden. Have over 50 plants under them. Next will be seedling tomatoes. Update; May 2022. I got one light temporarily standing on end. Lighting over 50 dahlias of different varieties on shelves in the shower. They are growing so fast. Some almost an inch a day. Not spindly at all. Update; June 2024. I also have purchased the 2ft lights. Just as great with no problem. Now, present day, I just purchased another set of the 4ft lights. My third purchase. Here is the issue. Was supposed to be in repackaged amazon box. That alone made me wait an extra week for delivery. When they arrived the lights came in the original box with a ripped hole. Missing most the mounting hardware. No booklet. Missing wire. Also I wonder if this was a return since there was no protective plastic on the light lens. Because the lights work and due to extra parts from my last two purchases I will keep them. But... Now I will rethink any future purchases from this company. Also, I am now not prone to recommend this item to a friend.

I have purchased a total of 4 of these lamps and overall I am pretty pleased with them. They work really well and have kept my plants happy and healthy for a few years now. They are very easy to setup and the included power cords can be used to link multiple together making them very usable. They seem to be a good size as just two of them provides enough light for my 6ft table full of house plants. I did have one fail after about two years of use, but other than that have had no other issues. Hopefully the other ones last much longer.

Great light

I puchased 12 lights to use in a NFT hydroponic system (4 level system). 2 lights for backup. The manufacturer packaging was adequate and contained the electronic connectors, hanging hardware, reflectors, lights and instruction book. Amazon shipped the original package in their own larger box twice but sent 3 boxes in the original package/box. So, the hanging hardware and connectors are simple but function well. I super-glued the clips to the lights to make sure they are secure. Right out of the box, one light didn't work and two others flickered in the led panel. For one light, after a couple of minutes the flickering stopped. The assembly procedure was easy except for the reflectors because there is a tiny slot at each end where the reflector fits and, let's be honest you need to have patience to align it. Okay that was harder than it should have been. But, once I got the hang of it, assembling the reflectors was easy. I connected 8 lights in series without a problem but then read later that only 4 should be connected in series. Now, I have 2 sets of 4 lights connected in series. I purchased the lights in April, 22 and set them up in May, 22. I run them on a 'long day' cycle, ie. 16 hour days, for the last 4 months (today is Aug. 5th, 2022). I don't find the lights hot as I have read in other reviews. They are warm but not 'hot'. I hung them between 14 in. to 19 in. above the plants (lettuce/cucumbers/green peppers/cilantro/green beans/onions). I measured the PPFD at that distance. Here's the PPFD measurements using my phone app, (Photone): center: 538 umol/m2/s, out to 8in from 'center', 310 umol/m2/s. The recommended PPFD to grow lettuce is around 300 umol/m2/s so these lights are more than adequate. They are performing well for my lettuces, cilantro, arugula, as well as my 'fruiting' plants: cucumbers, onions, green peppers and green beans. I didn't expect to see fruiting plants produce anything because they are simply 40watt lights but surprise, cucumbers are coming like crazy and green beans and green peppers are growing great! I've had 2 harvests of over 200 lettuce plants in the last 4 months... yeah thats alot because the thought was to sell at a farmer's market. I need more experience before that happens but I expect to grow thru the winter with these lights. They get the job done and don't break your wallet. Greg

At first it seemed fine first year however a little stressed with yellower leaves, but second year none of the seedlings grew healthy. Stunted, yellow and losing leaves. Maybe some of the light parts were wearing down. Ive used this for two years and the second year nearly failed unless I brought it out into the sun. Also, the clear plastic barrier encapsulating the light nodes broke after it easily dislodged from the frame.

This light is everything I need! It comes with two lights, all kinds of different ways to connect the two lights to the power cord as well as plenty of options for hanging. Unfortunately when I got my box one of the lights didn’t work at all. I was very frustrated at first but I saw on the instructions an email and that they wanted us to reach out to schlux with problems so I did. I had received the box on a Thursday, opened it and found the broken light on a Sunday, emailed them right away, and had a reply a few hours later that Sunday. I gave them all the info and by that evening they had agreed to send another light on Tuesday. They sent it on Tuesday with tracking info and I received it by Thursday. And they actually sent me two more lights that both work so I have three total lights that work. Communication was amazing and prompt! I am so fully satisfied with how easy that replacement was that I’m not upset at all that one wasn’t working to begin with. And now if something happens to another one I have an extra replacement! Very worth my money. For anyone who wants to know I set the lights on two cinder blocks on a table instead of trying to hang them or something, and I have them hooked to a timer for the lights to automatically come on for 8 hours. And I have a self watering system using capillary fabric dipping into one end of a reservoir. We went on vacation and I didn’t have to hire anyone to take care of my seedlings for a week!

...really ABYSMAL assembly instructions than fail to clearly explain the three (?) methods of hanging the fixtures and the purpose of the MANY unidentifiable parts, especially the tiny plastic parts that seem to serve no discernible purpose. Also the metal hanging clips don't hold well and its virtually impossible to keep the reflectors in place while hanging the fixtures. Fortunately I only had room for the front reflectors that were fairly easy to install with the lights hanging in place. It took me about two hours to install these, a job that SHOULD have taken 15 minutes.
