Good quality
After reading so many articles about the the benefits of a non-pressurized (bottomess) portafilter and watching videos on the subject, even though I am a bonefide newbie to the "art" of home espresso, I purchased the 51 mm Joytata portafilter to replace the one sold with the DeLonghi Dedica espresso machine (BTW I don't understand, given all the info available everywhere about the superior result you get from the bottomless portafilter, why DeLonghi still sell a "lesser" tool (pressurized double spout portafilter) with their espresso machine. The Joytata portafilter (with basket) is well made, feels substantial and solid. The wooden handle fits well and secure in the hand. And it is pretty. The basket is a tight fit, not easy to put in and get out of the portafilter, but that is necessary so you don't throw the basket with the puck when done. It is very satisfying to watch the crema come out of the basket. Definitely recommend it.

My first bottomless portafilter, and I'm mostly happy with it.
I got this for a 52mm off brand machine, not what it was designed for, but it works, though it's kinda tight, and it doesn't lock in. Again, I have a machine it wasn't designed for, so not something I blame the portafilter for. The wood feels rough when it's wet, like it's not well polished, or finished. Makes me worry it'll crack, or splinter. Maybe I'm worried about nothing though. Ok, so after a month, the metal collar has been digging into the wood, and the wood did start to splinter. The metal collar the head pushes against has a sharp edge that pushes into the wood, so it has to either be loose to protect the wood, or if you tighten it, it'll dig in. This could have been solved with a washer for padding, or a shorter collar so it doesn't get dug into the wood, or the collar could have been machined more to have a curled, or flat part to push against the wood, instead of cutting through it. The sides of the portafilter have cut aways that help you remove the basket. I removed it once for an initial clean before using it, and it was a little hard to remove, but ones I got leverage here, it slipped out. After a month of use, and knocking out coffee pucks, the filter basket hasn't slipped out at all, so I'd say it's just the right amount of firmly held in place. The slots that help you remove the basket, also drains water if you rinse off the bottom, which I felt was helpful for cleaning without taking apart. The edges are a little rough at the cut outs, and snagged my towels a little, but I haven't found this to be an issue. The shots I get are really great, and they seem to pour very well, so maybe this is just a perfect portafilter. It's allowed me to experiment, and fine tune all my components, and techniques, and learn how to craft nearly perfect espresso. From all my research, and fine tuning, I believe this portafilter works just as would be expected. Easy to clean to, just wipe out with a soapy rag, rinse, and that's it. I use ultra pure water in my machine, so after I rinse the portafilter, I put it in, and run a blank shot with the filtered water to flush any hard water from the tap. I haven't noticed any spots, or erosion, or lime scale doing this.

Might not fit all Espresso machines
Looks good, but the 3 prongs that lock it in place do not fit all machines.(too big) the cup does come out and fits in others, but I have 2 machines and it would noot fit either of them.

DO NOT BUY
The manufacturer is dishonest is saying this was made for the EdLonghi EC machines, THEY ARE NOT! Those machines were never designed for bottomless and this company never took the time to research that or even the correct basket size. If you buy this, 9 out of the 10 espressos you make will result in an absolute mess of your counter. My biggest regret was not returning this product when I could have, and kept trying to make it work as an experienced coffee roaster. But at the end of the day, a turd, is still a turd.

Don't return if you think it doesn't fit!
I was going to return this item, but a friend came over told me I was just using it wrong. If you think it spills coffee from the sides of your machine, just try to improve on your coffee making: 1. Make sure you don't use more than 15Grams for each serving 2. Make sure you distribute the coffee properly with a declamping tool if possible 3. Use different temps and/or bar strength After using a couple of times, it never spilled the coffee from the sides like when it did at first when I got it and the coffee really does taste great; don't discourage!
