TAOS Beaver Lure
I have a serious beaver problem on my lake. They continue to build dams in two culverts which causes water to back up into my yard - very dangerous! I purchased a Conibear trap and saw videos of how to bait it. Taos Beaver Lure was often recommended so I purchased this due to the ratings. On the first trap I set, it was tripped overnight but nothing in it in the morning. I set the trap on night 2, using a half cap on the trigger. The net morning I had my first beaver in the trap, a monster 50" and 60 pound beast!!! I have set the trap several times since and each time I either have a beaver or the trap is sprung. THIS STUFF WORKS!!! For the price and how well it works, it is awesome! I know I'll have to buy more due to several more beavers on the lake. If you are looking for good lure, this is the stuff!

Powerful Stuff
First off, I'm not a professional trapper. I'm just a former suburban home owner who wanted a little space and purchased 8 acres of land. Having lived there 3 years and not having seen a beaver other than on TV, I was surprised to find 7 trees destroyed by my new visitor. First thing I did was freak out. Then I gathered my thoughts and researched how to catch my Beaver after finding that to catch and remove a beaver, companies charge $500-1000. I then freaked out again and purchased every trap one could think of. I got a live trap, snares, pressure body trap and also read that beavers are quite shy and in order to motivate my Beaver visitor I got this stuff. One day after my purchase of this lure along with some snares, I got it in the mail and decided to go for it. In order to snare a beaver, you need to find out where it travels and motivate it to go through the snare by putting tree branches on each side of the path (snare partially in water as it comes out of the water) and strategically set up snare so beaver gets part way in snare and it then tightens to hold the beaver (snare anchored into ground). This lure is a small bottle for sure. It smells a bit like car oil but has a faint scent of old log cabin. The beaver I'm sure smells another beaver ( I believe it's contents include beaver scent gland) The night I first got it I continued to research beaver trapping and read all kinds of stuff. Some sites say leave it to pros etc. I am a DIYer however and if someone else can do it, so can I. Well, the next day came and . . . .No Beaver!I checked the snares and cleared the path into the snares and waited again. The second night came and . . . success!!! There is some research involved but If I can catch a beaver, anyone can. It was a curious sight indeed, we were both surprised to see each other and the beaver flapped it's tail in the water to warn its friends of danger. Now my goal is to get them too and save the rest of my trees. This lure comes in a bottle, in a plastic bag. It is very vasoline like. I'm sure it needs to be kept from drying out as well. Highly recommended!

Fun stuff!
In case you're not aware, "Beaver Lure" is a substance that comes from a beaver's anal glands. It's bait to attract beavers, as they find the scent irresistible. It actually smells very good and is used in expensive perfumes. Pure, it sells for over $100.00 an ounce. This was purchased as a gag gift (along with a little stuffed beaver, of course), so obviously, I went for the not pure mix. It's certainly a fun conversation piece and a riot to see all the phones come out as people google it.
