Makes Pro Crimp Connections
I'm using this to crimp lugs on 1/0 AWG cable for my battery-to-inverter connections. I tried a cheaper tool before moving up to this one. The dies are easy to change. I counted backwards from the largest 4/0 down to find 1/0 and it works perfect with my lugs. With this crimper I can make totally professional cables that are perfect for my application. Get yourself some cable, some lugs and one of these crimpers and get to work. Good Crimping To You!

Great investment
Bought this because it advertised that it could be used on 0000 awg wire, It did a great job. If it can do 0000 Awg , it can do anything smaller easily.

Works great for large gauge crimp jobs
I had originally ordered another hydraulic crimping tool to do the electrical spring in my RV conversion, but then I upgraded both my batteries and inverter choices, to large enough units that I needed 4/0 wire for the battery bank and inverter. My other crimper only went to 2/0. This one is better in a couple ways. Its bigger, and designed in a stronger manner. It requires less force to pump the handle as a result. The dies produce a cleaner crimp than my other crimper. And, obviously, it crimps 4/0 terminals. My only real complaint is the dies are labeled with what I assume is the metric equivalent size instead of the gauge of the wire. So you have to do a bit of comparing to find the right size unless you know the relationship between both systems already. One other thing I noticed...the description says this goes up to 4/0 (and it does), but my 4/0 cable and terminals required the second-largest set of dies, which means it actually goes one size larger than 4/0.

Almost perfect but works perfectly fine for 1/0 heavy duty terminals
The piston head that presses on the moving die is not machined flat as you can see toward the left side in the closeup picture of the crimper. In the picture, a small sliver of the angled piston head can be seen between the the black-painted piece to its left and the wood grain to its right. This causes the dies to get slightly out of line with one another. However, the misalignment didn't seem to be a problem when I crimped the 1/0 terminal shown in picture 2. The dies are identified by the metric system, not AWG. I found the 50mm size worked perfectly fine for the 1/0 terminals. Clamping the tool's nose in the vice with the tool pointing straight up seemed to be the easiest way to use it. I'll probably take the tool apart and machine the piston flat one day in the future. For now, it's working fine for my project.

Metric dies
This is very well built for the cost and it comes in a nice hard case. It easy to use and comes with spare O rings. It has no manual with it but you can down load it from the Amazon site

4/0 Awg crimper!
It ain't a Temco Crimper.. Its a cheap China made copy.. Yet it works! I crimped this 4/0 Awg 5/16 copper terminal onto this Temco 4/0 Awg cable. I did it twice right around an it's on there for Good! Definitely worth the money in my opinion! Baught this tool to crimp 4/0 awg welding wire on to my alternator to my Lithium batteries to my 8000w cb radio amplifier. It worked Great!

Terrible design.
What a waste! If you try to crimp anything heavier that 10 AWG you better have arms like tree trunks because this tool simply does not work at all! Save you money.
