Does this work with a standard 2x4?

The width of the 2x4 will fit into the vertical upright of the post base because the opening is made to accept 1-5/8" channel. However, less than half of the length of the 2x4 will be covered by the sides of the vertical upright because it is designed for 1-5/8” square channel.

Are there any specific large Caster wheels that can be used to fit into these post bases?

Good morning, Thank you for your question. At present there are no specific casters for use with Unistrut post bases. I'd suggest doing a search for "strut casters" on here and there is a good chance you will find something that might be modified to work. But at present there is no OEM item for post base casters. is this corrosion proof for outside usage?
