Wouldn’t consider this optional!
Put 6 oz water bottles in freezer to rotate and keep water cold in cooler. This was a game changer for my mom post surgery. Totally worth it!! It worked well and was user friendly. Easy to use and made things convenient. Helped pain after doing PT as well

This machine is worth the price. Beats ice packs any day.
Easy to operate and very effective at providing cold therapy. We used this for my husband's knee replacement recovery and found that after a week, the use of this cold therapy machine helped reduce his need for pain meds. Highly recommended.

value for money and performance
this was a great buy! I use this thing nonstop for six weeks after rotator cuff surgery. I found using less water and adding more ice cubes to get past. The minimum line worked best stayed coldest the longest. I tried the frozen water bottles, but that didn’t seem to work as well. There are people on here saying water bottles are too tall to fit, but you can make them fit if you squish them down a little bit before freezing. Let some water out of the bottle and squeeze the bottle down before greet then thry will fit, but like I said ice cubes and water works best! This thing was a lifesaver!

A terrific unit -if you have it beginning of your injury
After hearing many people who own similar units and had great experience, I decided to invest in one too. Too late. By the time the product arrived, it was my 3rd week of injury. I was prescribed a lot of pain meds to cope with the swelling of my foot in first 2 weeks. I had a talus bone fracture. If you are considering this unit for a hurt ankle/ foot, it’ll be most helpful initial 2 weeks of your injury, and then you’ll need less and less as the swelling goes down. Had I had this unit earlier, I believe I might have rely less on oral meds and kept the swelling (very painful) to a minimum. For the unit itself, I found it the BEST one of the 3 I’ve researched. A friend loaned me their Breg polar care cube unit that their doctor “gave them” (their insurance covered the cost, how nice right?). I thought since it’s “hospital grade”, theirs must be superior? No, this Nehoo is way more user friendly; it fits 2 yogurt/ ice cream tub size ice blocks (reducing you having to make buckets of ice daily). The cover slides in and out easily, unlike my friend’s Breg, which is a battle to completely put it on with the handle “catches”. I like the fact that it has control on the interface, allowing different options eg 30 min cycle time. This would be very useful if you had make surgery and bedridden for a long time and wants the ice machine to run continuously without having to get up and reset the system. That way you don’t even need someone to help you. It’s also bigger than the Breg which keeps the ice and ice water cold longer - bigger container means it holds more ice and less need to replenish cold water/ice if you need to use it all day. For reference, I used it 2-3x a day but had I gotten it first couple weeks of my injury, I would have been on it probably twice as much and twice as long because my foot swell up 4x bigger after the accident. The swelling was so painful that I ended up doing foot ice baths. That was instant relief but messy and I needed my spouse to help me set up the ice bucket etc This would have been a game changer. As I entered my 4th-5th week of injury, my back actually needs icing more than my foot because I started to learn to walk and one side of my back is compensating so much since I couldn’t completely bear weight on the bad foot. That causes a lot of constant back pain all day long. Chiropractor/ physio therapy etc only temporarily relief. This ice machine is used in between visits. I also like the soft grey nicer color than the Breg blue. The only thing it is inferior is that it’s pretty loud. I don’t know that until I tried the Brege and the latter was noticeably quieter. The price is also midway. Not the costliest on Amazon. I found a similar unit on temu for a lot less, about $80 but it took forever to arrive so like I said timing is important when you are using these recovery tools. Also the Temu one has a collapsible bucket and the bucket is smaller than the Breg, so my guess is it probably will not be able to keep the ice and water as cold and long as these two above mentioned. The Temu is however, a great option for those who have a tighter budget. Other than the bucket, the pad and cord all seems to be compatible. Make sure you Google and watch a video on how to empty the water inside the pad when you are ready to store it. I highly recommend it for anyone with shoulder, knee, foot injuries. Because my friends who recommended this unit to me had such injuries and all had positive experiences. See side by side video comparison with the Breg unit. Hope this review helps those on the fans decide!

Good ice machine for post surgery
I want to first say this is nothing like the medical grade iceless machine you get after surgery. I highly recommend renting that one first. Having said that, this machine is good quality for the money. I could only fit 2 12 ounce frozen bottles in it with the water, but it was cold enough. There is no compression-just cold to ice after surgery/injury. It's very easy to use and aids in pain relief.

Game changer after surgery. Runs silently! Great value for money!
I love my Nehoo cold therapy system. I got it for my left total knee replacement surgery December 16th and don't believe I would be this far along with positive progress without this machine. It is so quiet, has so many options. I love that I can disconnect it but leave the coming part on my knee and walk around the house if I need to. Highly highly recommend! I call it my KneeHoo for obvious reasons!

This so much better than ice packs
First of all, this is only getting 4 stars because the temperature gauge failed after 1 week. Hubs called the company, and they immediately sent out another unit and told us not to bother sending the other one back. Keep in mind, the unit still works fine, just does not let you know when the ice needs to be changed because it's getting too warm. This is a handy little machine that will keep things cool for about half a day with 5 or 6 little ice bottles. It's not quite as cold as an ice pack, which is actually more comfortable, and you don't have to spend all day running back and forth and changing ice. I got the knee pad and use it instead of the universal pad, as I needed it after a knee replacement, so I can't say how well the universal pad works. It's nice that you can either run it for manual intervals or can set it to run for 30 minutes and then start up again in 30 minutes automatically. The straps are plenty long enough to wrap about your knee without cutting into it or making it uncomfortable. The velcro is a bit of a pain, because it wants to stick to everything, but it does it's job well. When the entire unit it working correctly, it will let you know when you need to change the ice bottles, because the temperature is too high. It still works just fine without it, though. My doctor called this a "luxury", but I think it's a necessity if you need to ice after surgery or an injury. Old-fashioned ice packs are such a pain, having to change them out constantly and having to keep enough of them to make sure there's always one cold. For the cost, it was well worth the money to me. The company's customer service was excellent, too.
