Great filament for all kinds of prints!
This filament is amazing. The tri-color silk effect is absolutely beautiful — super vibrant with a subtle sparkle that really pops when printed. My son loves it, and we’ve already printed a dragon that came out incredible and a few fidget toys. I also made a bunch of decorative New Year’s Eve pieces that hook onto glasses, and they were such a hit. The color added the perfect festive touch and instantly elevated the party vibe. Prints smoothly and looks high-end right off the printer. Can’t wait to make more with this filament — definitely a great choice for fun, eye-catching projects.

Great Filament as usual
GEEETECH Filament Review Overview In the past, I’ve printed with Geeetech’s metallic pink and metallic blue filaments—both performed excellently and left a great impression. This tri-color silk PLA didn’t disappoint either; it continued that streak with ease. This review covers Geeetech Silk PLA Tri Color Filament (1.75 mm)—a coextruded blend of blue, purple, and black with a metal-like shimmer. I printed all test models on a Creality Ender 3 Pro, using settings that represent what most users might try out of the box, with only basic tuning. All prints were done straight from the spool with no drying. Test Setup • Printer: Creality Ender 3 Pro • Nozzle: 0.4 mm • Slicer: Cura 5.10.1 • Layer Height: 0.20 mm • Infill: 20% • Bridging Enabled: Yes • Bed Surface: Longer textured glass plate • Ambient Conditions: Approx. 24 °C, ~65% RH • Print Time: Approx. 2 hours Print Results Metric Observation Dimensional Accuracy Cube: X 20.15 mm, Y 20.12 mm, Z 19.92 mm. Cylinder: Ø 19.95 mm, Height 19.75 mm. Excellent tolerances for standard calibration pieces. Layer Adhesion Strong; models held up well under light flex and handling with no signs of delamination. Surface Finish Smooth satin sheen with mild reflection. The tri-color effect adds a premium look without overpowering detail. Bridging Clean on all spans of the temperature tower; consistent filament flow, no visible sagging or webbing. Overhangs Performed well on moderate angles—better than typical silk PLA in unsupported areas. Stringing Very minimal, even at 190 °C. A few faint wisps—barely noticeable and not an issue. Warping None observed across all models. Jamming No jams or clogs during the full print session. Odor None noticeable during printing. Pros • Excellent dimensional accuracy • Beautiful, reflective color transitions • Virtually no stringing • Great layer adhesion • Easy to work with right out of the package Cons • Silk finish can obscure fine details under certain lighting • No resealable bag included in packaging Tips & Tricks • Ideal Temp: 215 °C worked best across test models (but may vary by setup) • Bridging: Enable it for best horizontal performance • Retraction: Basic retraction settings were enough—no special tuning needed Images 1. Temperature & Bridging Tower – Shows consistent bridging across all levels 2. Classic Rook – Clean crenellations, strong vertical structure, and smooth layers 3. Calibration Set – XYZ cube, cylinder, and rook for scale and detail comparison Final Verdict 5 / 5 stars. Geeetech’s tri-color Silk PLA exceeded expectations in both aesthetics and performance. It printed cleanly, stayed within spec, and delivered models with just enough shine to stand out without compromising function. It’s a solid pick for anyone looking to add both style and reliability to their prints.

Works well!
My first spool of TPU and following manufacturer print settings in the slicer it printed well with no clogs or bubbling. I did use a filament dryer to dry before and during printing.

I like it so far
This tri-color silk PLA filament is absolutely stunning! The color transitions are incredibly smooth and create a truly mesmerizing effect on my prints. It handles beautifully on my printer, with excellent adhesion and minimal stringing. The finished pieces have a gorgeous, glossy sheen that elevates them beyond standard PLA. I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality and aesthetic appeal of this filament.

Great and Fun, TPU is hard to print
This is my first TPU and it works pretty nicely on my Bambu Lab A1. It's a little stringy and bridging is a little bad, but that's bound to happen with TPU. Note that TPU is very challenging to print with and can cause clogs during loading the filament. I used 230C nozzle and 45C bed to print this tennis ball. The filament is not brittle at all and flows pretty good with nice adhesion. Overall, a solid TPU for the price.

Not too happy.
Like the title says, it has potential. Before y'all think I need to change my print settings and tune the filament, I have been printing for over four years and I did calibrate this spool. I have had a couple good prints and a lot of failures. Some of those failures are definitely user error but a lot more have been from the tangled mess that is the filament. I have had to stop around a dozen prints because the filament is weaving in and out of itself and crossed under layers that are below the top layer on the spool. I also believe that how the spool is wound is causing friction that is leading to under extrusion. This is my first spool from geeetech and I got it out of curiosity (I have heard mixed reviews about their filament) and because the clear blue color was very appealing. The two prints (left and right shoe in pictures)I have fully completed look good and did well. Now, the sole of one ripped off and that I will blame on my print settings and/or that they were being worn by a twelve year old and he is way too fast for tpu shoes. If geeetech could get their QC down for spool winding, that would be a positive change and I think it would do better. Even though this is my first spool from them, I don't believe I will buy another. I have spent around ten to twelve hours, across multiple days, trying to tune and calibrate this filament and when I get close to what should be good, the tangled mess stops the filament from extruding or it prints fine for the first ten layers then starts under extruding. It's too frustrating and too unpredictable to have any real confidence that it will perform properly. I would suggest finding another company to buy your tpu from but, you do you.

Love this filament!
Great quality. Neat color that changes every print! Does not break easily. Worth the purchase!

After using the recommendations from other reviewer here, I got a great first print with TPU. (Last years only did PLA). And it's great! The filament/printer doesn't sisses... so no moist in the filament. It is packed in vacuüm very well. I've got the white 'color'... does look a bit 'milky' in stead of glance white. Which is fine, just something to know. Temp nozzle: 220 for whole print. Bed: 50, infill depending on wanted flex., layers .3 with .4 nozzle.. fan on 10%... or no fan is often recommended. I learned via youtube that it's good to put the print in the oven for 30 minutes on 50 degrees. This make a (much!) better result print.. especially when the filament get's a bit moist. Not needed after unpacking, but after a few days the filament will have absorbed a lot of water out of the air. In case this one runs out, will order here again in Blue.. looking forward to it! Thanks!
