⚡ Elevate your fiber game with precision and power in one sleek device!
The TEMPO OPM220 is a high-performance fiber optical power meter featuring a broad measurement range from -50 to +26 dBm across multiple wavelengths (850-1650 nm). It integrates multi-frequency tone generation (270Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz) and a Visual Fault Locator for comprehensive fiber network testing. Compatible with both Singlemode and Multimode fibers, it offers rugged portability with an InGaAs detector and AA battery operation, designed for precise, efficient field use.

Almost Perfect
Overall, I am happy with this tester, it is easy to use, it is accurate, feels well made, the price is nice and it works well. The probes are touchy as they just dont fit properly.I am going to buy some others and see if I can find some that fit correctly.I think 4 STARS is a fair rating.4 STARS

Optical Power Measurement and VFL
This tester has universal 2.5mm connectors, cables attach and fit normally. I did not have any issues with cable attachment at all.Compatible with singlemode and multimode networks, it handles Telco and MSO applications. The case feels fairly rugged and durable. Includes a flashlight and auto-off function. Powered by AA batteries.Measures optical power from +26 to -50dBm (1310/1490/1550/1625nm) and -40 to +26dBm (850/1300nm) across 850, 980, 1270, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550, 1577, 1625, and 1650nm wavelengths.Uses an InGaAs detector for high sensitivity and supports 270Hz, 1kHz, and 2kHz tone detection for fiber identification.Integrated 1mW 650nm (red laser) VFL detects bends, faulty connectors, and fiber breaks by making them glow red. Easily visible indoors, but can be hard to see in bright conditions.Compact form factor suits field use, but the VFL’s 1mW output may not be enough for bright sunlight.

I tested it, and it works great!
It so happens I have a fiber optic light source for testing fiber optic circuits, as well as a launch cable, so upon seeing a few negative reviews for this, I had to break out my test gear to see if this really works, or if it's a dud.First of all, I had no problems getting my fiber cable hooked up to this at all. I don't know what type of hardware the other folks were using, but my gear is pretty standard, and I had no problems whatsoever. My cable hooked right up to either the Tx or Rx port, and I had no problems either receiving or accurately measuring (power AND wavelength) an incoming signal, nor did I have any problems transmitting a signal to the ODTR tester I have. So, point blank, this meter from Tempo not only works, but works quite well. It's super simple to use, too, it only has 3 modes (visual fault, signal strength, and flashlight) and all the things it does should be instantly familiar to anyone that works on fiber. The only complaints I have about it are, 1, no carry case is included, for the price, a nice soft case SURE would have been appreciated, and 2, not only is it AAA powered and not rechargeable (ugh), but the battery door is a REAL PAIN to slide off. Getting it on is no problem but taking it off was a real struggle. The overall quality of it is really good, and as someone that owns other Tempo test equipment (I have one of their multimeters I just LOVE, the MM200), I can attest to how good their equipment is. I've owned my MM200 for 4+ years now and it still works like new. I have no doubt this will be as long lived, so I think it's overall worth the asking price. Their stuff just works.I wish it came with a case, and I wish it was rechargeable (sigh), but as far as fiber test equipment goes, this is an excellent piece of gear that I tested personally and found it to be functionally excellent. And that's the main thing for most folks. 4 stars, and a recommended buy.

Works great - cables attach just fine, small device but legible display
This is a great little fiber meter. Very simple and easy to use. Solidly built, and fairly small - the display is very easy to read. A flip-cap covers and protects the cable attachment points and flashlight as you'd expect. Cables attach normally, so I'm not sure what other reviews are complaining about.

Not worth the trouble
I am having trouble with the optical attachments they don't seem to be fitting this correctly. Product looks nice and feels like it is made with good quality materials I just can't get it to work right.

Solid Tool but Attachments Could be Better
This is a handy and reliable tool for fiber optic work. It covers a good range of wavelengths, and the built-in visual fault locator is super useful for spotting breaks or issues in the line. Battery life is great, and it's easy to carry around. That being said the attachments don't always fit as they should, which can be a bit frustrating during use.

Accurate fiber optic meter
The meter functions well. It is accurate showing the fiber optic light output at various frequencies. It is good quality with a secure cover for the delicate connection ports. It is easy to use with good basic operating instructions. It provides bright light output for testing. The various modes work well.It is a good value for the money.
