Morrison’s Red Onions, 1kg: The Layered Legends of the Veggie World
Backstory: It all started on a dark and stormy afternoon (because, of course, it did). I was in the middle of making my famous “throw-everything-in-a-pan-and-hope-it-works” stir-fry when I realized I had no onions. None. Not a single, tear-inducing bulb to my name. In a panic, I added them to my grocery delivery order—Morrison’s Red Onions, 1kg. The moment they arrived, I knew they weren’t just ordinary onions. The bag practically glowed, radiating an energy that said, “We’re not just here to cook. We’re here to tell a story.” Inspired by the immortal words of Shrek, I thought, “Ogres are like onions. And onions, apparently, are like adventure.” That night, as I peeled back the layers of my first onion, I swear I heard faint whispers of ancient wisdom. Somewhere in the depths of its papery skin was advice I never thought I needed. The Encounter: The first onion was enormous—bigger than expected, almost too big. As I sliced into it, tears started to stream down my face, but these weren’t ordinary onion tears. No, these were tears of existential clarity. Amid the chopping, I realized that life, much like an onion, is made up of layers. The outer layer, crispy and flaky, represents the superficial things we worry about. Beneath that, the smooth purple layer—the good stuff—is where the real flavor (and life lessons) live. I sliced it thin and tossed it in the pan, where it caramelized into golden perfection. But the onion wasn’t done teaching me. Later that evening, I had a dream. A deep, raspy onion voice (definitely inspired by Shrek) gave me life advice: “Never settle for dull knives or scratchy bedsheets. Life’s too short for bad cuts—whether on the chopping board or in your sleep.” Review: Pros: 1. Generous Quantity: A full 1kg bag is enough to fuel all your culinary experiments—or possibly start an underground onion barter economy. 2. Exceptional Freshness: The onions were firm, vibrant, and beautifully purple—clearly, these onions have been living their best lives. 3. Versatility: Whether raw in a salad, caramelized in a stir-fry, or roasted in the oven, these onions deliver every time. 4. Tear Factor: These onions will make you cry, but in the best way. Who doesn’t need an occasional emotional purge while cooking? Cons: 1. Existential Weight: These onions are not for the faint-hearted. Their layered metaphor might lead you into a spiral of deep thoughts at inconvenient times. 2. Strong Aroma: The smell is potent, even through the bag. Your kitchen will smell like you’re about to host an onion appreciation festival. 3. Layered Complexity: Some onions in the bag had more skin layers than a self-published fantasy novel—getting to the good stuff required a bit of patience. Unexpected Adventures: Midway through the week, I decided to use the onions in a sheet pan recipe (still pondering the onion’s advice about bedsheets, mind you). As I was laying slices across the pan, the smell wafted through the house. Moments later, the dog appeared, eyes wide, convinced this was the greatest thing I’d ever cooked. The next-door neighbor also popped by, claiming they “needed to borrow sugar” but staying for onion trivia instead. Final Thoughts: Morrison’s Red Onions, 1kg are more than just a kitchen staple. They’re storytellers, teachers, and occasionally, your emotional support vegetable. Whether you’re using them for culinary masterpieces or pondering their metaphorical significance, these onions will not disappoint. Just be ready for some unexpected advice along the way. Would I recommend them? Absolutely. 10/10—for flavor, versatility, and life wisdom. Bonus tip: Always pair them with a sharp knife, a hot pan, and, of course, decent bedsheets. Life is about layers, after all.

Red onions... better in salads 🥗 and on pizza 🍕
I ordered these because don't always want to use a whole big onion. One half I'd used in a meal and the other half is wasted, drying out in the fridge, alone and forgotten... but not small onions! They're just the right size to add to salads, diced and sliced in smaller casseroles, in savoury pies and flans, minced with beef or lamb for a couple of super tasty burgers and sliced as garnish... the culinary list goes on! Fresh, useful and full of flavour. Treat your salad!

Onions :)
The onions varied in size & freshness. One or two were soft after a few days but the rest were fine for a few weeks before being used. Usual red onion taste & no tears when preparing .

Ok
Ok, but had a few very bruised onions. Better if possible to pick fresh fruit and vegetables from the shop and get food cupboard online
