Q: Will this work for a gymnast?

It should. If you have torn up hands this stuff will help greatly with getting them healed up. We have a gymnastics coach at where I do CrossFit and she uses it too.

Q: Is there a difference bw this tube style and the tub with the metal lid? I don't have calluses but my fingertiips are cracking from dry weather.

I don’t know about the metal one but this stuff works great. I have dry skin and tear my hands up at the gym, I use this stufff everyday to keep my hands from cracking.

Q: how do you get the top off?

Unscrew the top (where the color strips are) and then you can press the product up from the bottom (similar to a chapstick tube.)

Q: Has the formula changed for this wod welder? It seems you have to press alot harder against skin than before.

I have brought two of them with the past 6 months. The first one I noticed I had to press a little harder. The second one rolls on pretty easy but it does smell a little different! They both work great though. Hope this helps.
