After Searching for years for a Denim fabric that meets our mission criteria we bring you the defender-flex Jean by 5.11 Tactical. We can't tell you the number of times our end users have asked us to do a Jean and we know it's a favorite on the range as well as just about everywhere else. THE WORLD IS FULL OF UNKNOWNS. We cannot possibly predict what is going to happen every minute of the day, but we can prepare for it. In the gear we carry, the clothes we wear, the mindset we hold. Whether we are on duty or off duty, in our country or out of cell-range. THIS IS NOT JUST A MOTTO. This is not just a line on a t-shirt. This is how we live our lives. No matter what happens, we push forward, not out of the absence of fear, but in spite of it. Because we trust our instincts, we trust our training, and we trust our gear. At 5.11, we don’t simply inspire readiness, we are readiness. IT ALL STARTED WITH A PAIR OF PANTS. The FBI training academy adopted the original 5.11 pant as its training pant in 1992, forging a decades-long relationship that drives 5.11’s commitment to public safety and the first responder community. 5.11 Tactical began developing a more extensive law enforcement line in 2003. Our designers work together with public safety professionals to create gear that meets the needs of real people in the field. In 2012, we rose to the challenge of redesigning our women’s collection to create better fitting and higher performing options. Our women’s category has grown to include premium uniforms, covert clothing, fitness apparel and more Today, 5.11 is expanding into the outdoor and fitness markets with products like the Vaporlite short and the ABR trainer. We are determined to meet these new challenges with the same grit and fortitude that has always defined our brand.

Great pair of jeans.
These jeans are a great pair of jeans. I’ve ordered these twice for my son-in-law and he loves them. He is all recreational outdoors kinda guy. From plowing with the tractor, fishing, hunting. He puts them on his Amazon wish list every year.

Comfortable Jeans with Good Utility Pockets
Great looks, great fit, and the stretchy fabric makes movement easy. Too soon to say about durability but the material feels like it will last a long time.

All day jeans with a good deal of movement
I paid 85 dollars for the jeans, ordered the Dark Wash Indigo.Aside from fighting to find sizes in stock outside of ordering directly from 5.11 Tactical, the picture did not at align with the jeans I received. The pictured product on the website has significant fading in the thighs, fold lines near the pockets. These are not as distinctive on the pair of jeans I received. The jeans came with a tag that indicated the jeans will release dye in the first washes as well as over time so these example pictures may be of a jean that had distressed over a year of use.Comfort, fit and wearThe jeans are decently thick and do allow a great deal of movement. If you tug a small patch of the Lycra T400 Tough Max fabric the stretch doesn't seem like enough, maybe even less than other reviews have said. However deep lunges and squats didn't cause any tautness or struggle giving that "wearing no pants at all" feel that others have attested to. The jeans are not nearly as breathable as many say for comfortable summer wear and I can see them being quite swampy in a humid summer. The fabric was also relatively itchy on first wear, maybe this will improve on washes. The sizes offered seem to be sized correctly when measured with a tape. I do notice the waist size seems to be sized at full extend aka when fully stretched so do not think that the fabric will do you any favors after a meal, I would honestly sized up the waist one size if you are expecting this pant to not cut into your gut after dinner. lastly the main button has some pretty sharp edges.pockets are as youd expect, generally good room, very convenient.

Nice looking jeans you can fight in
For a $70 pair of jeans these look nice, are comfortable to fight in, and at first impression appear to be durable.Full disclosure the true durability is yet to be seen from my perspective. I have ran, fought, carried a gun and climbed in them a considerable amount and they are comfortable for that. They aren't as constricting mobility wise when you have someone in your guard compared to traditional jeans. Triangles, kimoras etc are very easy to do in them. Carrying a gun, mag, knife, and flashlight are all very easy and the design helps a lot for those with that in mind. I love the side pocket. I hate that constricting feeling when you pull someone into your guard and your phone is in your pocket and the side pocket allows for you to strangle a man with your legs and not restrict your mobility-if that's important to you these are great. They also look like a nice pair of jeans. I wouldn't mind having an option to pay a little more for a more high end designer look for these either though so 5.11 if you're listening I think you are missing an opportunity there but they are nice looking. All in all they are everything I expected them to be and they do it well so for that I give it 5 stars. If you want nice jeans you can fight in for <$100 these are sure tough to beat.

A little longer than expected.
They're pants that are as advertised. The length is a couple inches longer than I purchased. I suppose this is for someone to roll them up?
