Great UPS for peace of mind
Bought this to provide backup power for my home server and CCTV system. Luckily not had to use it in anger yet but tested by pulling the power and kept everything running in the interim, enough time for my server to have a graceful shutdown and for CCTV to catch anyone that might have been interfering. Build quality is decent, seems sturdy and reliable. Doesn't emit any more noise than my home server already is so already keeping the levels down. Fits comfortbaly alongside my server on the shelf i've got them on so doesn't take up too much room. I can't speak to how long max this would keep things powered for, i think the estimate may have been about 10 minutes, but for the purposes of what I need, that is more than enough. Overall great unit for not an outlandish price, so I would say a great buy.

Noisy - No Power Connection Lead Included
I purchased this UPS to connect to my small office server which runs 24/7. Living in a village means we are occasionally subjected to short power disconnections. A Server running 24/7 with CCTV writing to the HDD requires a stable power connection so that your HDD are not damaged by such power cuts. I didn't require anything to heavy in terms of a UPS as our power is normally restored pretty quickly. I just wanted something that would connect to my server via USB and initiate the self protection mode for the disks - the BX750MI would provide this protection for me so i placed my order. First impressions were that the UPS is fairly large. For a single 9ah battery i expected it to be a little smaller. Inside the box you get the main UPS unit and an IEC male to female kettle connection lead. Whilst this is great for built in PSU's it was of no use to me as my device using a barrel plug connection. I solved this by connecting an IEC extension lead to allow me 3 pin UK plug connections. What was super frustrating is that the package did not include a power connection cable!! How can a company sell a product that you can not even use out of the box! I didn't have a spare IEC 3 pin power lead, so this meant i had to go out and buy one to connect the device to the main power. I can not being to tell you how frustrated this made me feel! After i purchased the power lead (yes i am still super annoyed by this!) the device sprung to life. The device is very simple, providing a minimal amount of backup power for lower powered device, up to around 300W. My server uses around 45w so this was more than ample. There is no display on the UPS so you have no idea of your remaining run time load, however my QNAP recognised the device straight away when connected with the included USB cable and informed me i had around 45mins of power. There are two strips of very bright green LED's on the device which illuminate the whole room at night. You can dim these slightly by holding the power button, but they are still way to bright for my liking. You can not disable them whatsoever. Testing the UPS function worked well, it continued to power my server until reconnected to the mains supply. What was annoying was the loud buzzing that came from the unit when it was supplying power to my server. I have another UPS in my lounge and this is absolutely silent apart from the intermittent beep it makes to alert you to the power failure. The buzzing from this APC unit made me question if the device was functioning correctly and if it was safe! I also tested the load on the device after the internal batteries were charged to 100%. The UPS has an overhead of around 15w according to my energy meter. So it will increase your energy costs by connecting up this UPS, however it should only be by around a small amount. My understanding of this device is that is also uses a stepped sinewave rather than a pure one - that should be fine for most home usage scenarios, but if you have highly sensitive equipment, especially with motors connected, then you should consider spending a little more to obtain a pure sinewave UPS. Would i recommend this UPS to others? If it came with a power lead then i most probably would, it's not badly priced, and does do the job of maintaining power during a power cut. The bright LED's i can kind of live with, the buzzing noise is frustrating, but this only happens when it switches to battery power mode. I just can not get past the fact they do not include a power lead with the device! Based on this i just can not recommend this device to others! A kettle lead literally would cost this company a few pence - it's just bizarre to sell a product you can not power straight from the box?! My advice is look elsewhere... I hope that you found my review helpful

Great little unit with some nice extras but runs a little hot and you can't replace the battery.
I got this to power my QNAP NAS in case the power goes out. From best to worst - it looks quite nice and as a unit for sitting under a tv, doesn't stand out but the light is a little bright. - USB support is excellent and doesn't need anything special to work out of the box. the qnap saw it straight away and started using it plus my windows pc saw the battery as soon as i plugged it in and started acting like a laptop, which is excellent and allows you some very special power management based on percent of charge and if the power goes off. - When the power goes out, while it isn't full sine, it's not quite as aggressive as some of the other units i've used. you can still hear that it's not full sine but it doesn't sound like it's wringing the neck of the devices connected to it. - Run time is acceptable, i've gotten 10 minutes out of it with more to spare (with about 200w load) and for my use that's all i need, i can't comment on full run time but as this unit uses lead acid batteries i wouldn't ever recommend running them completely flat as that will damage them. - This unit does run quite warm, the AVR circutry seems to give off a fair bit of heat so if you're putting it in a cupboard make sure that there's a fan blowing some air over the unit, i don't think i'd like to see what would happen if the lead acid batteries start boiling. and the worst - You can't change the batteries yourself, i'm sure you can order the replacements but the actual unit is designed in such a way that it's not trivial to replace the batteries, which in my eyes is just stupid. for something that will last max 3 years, that's a poor move from APC and doesn't inspire confidence. for me that's not a big thing as i will be upgrading to another full sine unit in the future but that still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. i wish i knew this before i brought the unit because it's just as important to be able to service the unit as is the quality of how it works. Overall, you'll be well served by the unit for low priority stuff and the USB support is excellent, just a shame about the batteries.

So far so good!
Works great with my gaming pc set up, covers everything I have attached, and not as bulky as I feared it would be.

Updated! Had to send both back
Update: At 14 months old we had a power surge and it didn't keep the PC running - we have just a PC and Monitor attached to it running at aboout 150W total which should be good for 30 minutes on UPS power. A couple of days later we could smell electrical burning. No alerts, alarms or flashing lights (we do use the PowerChute software). Tracked it down to the UPS so turned everything off and shut it down. The unit was roasting and seemed ready to catch fire. I did a quick google on how to get the batteries out which took me about 40 minutes finding a long enough, thin enough screwdriver! The batteries were still red hot, almost too hot to handle, but I got them out and moved them outside - the one was clearly deformed on all sides (see the pics). I left them outside to cool down and next day checked the voltages - the deformed / melted one was at just 3V - not good for a 14 month old battery! I followed the link on Amazon for support and after 30 minutes of going through it they told me they were in India so couldn't help me..... I did the link again and at the top noticed you could change country! About an hour of live chat which included being asked to put it back together to clear the internal memory in case that resolved it (to which I said I couldn't do that as it would be dangerous!!!) and eventually they agreed to replace it. This is the good part ... the next day I received a collection notification for the bad unit .. later that day a new unit arrived .. so a stunning replacement service. That just leaves me wondering whether to trust the unit now .. would I be happy going out and leaving it turned on? I know the RMA process but I do feel like a refund would have been better as the unit now concerns me - time will tell how this one goes but we shall keep a close eye (and nose) on it... Original review: I had 2 of these but had to send one back. One is a year old and has always been fine. The newer one was attached to a server of higher power usage - about 300W so only 1/3 of this units capability but it didn't stay up during power cuts and worse still it turned the power off to the server every 7 to 10 days which risked major corruption. I research and did trouble shooting, even adding an extra laptop just to monitor it but it kept doing the same so had to go back.

Doesn't come with a mains input lead.
I bought the BX750MI to provide power continuity in a rural area with fairly regular, short, power glitches. The unit is covering a broadband router and a mini PC used for office automation. * NO FRIKKIN POWER LEAD. As others have pointed out. What a major irritation. Good job I checked before I went on site and fortunately I have spares, but still. Is this penny pinching? * The green vertical LED strips on the front are FUGLY and serve no purpose. Schneider: Remove the LEDs and spend the money on a power lead. I used to install up to KVA-sized APC UPSs back in the pre-Schneider days. Some with additional battery packs. Time has moved on and the current case clearly uses less metal now so the unit feels 'cheaper' than I remember, but at least that makes it lighter to lug into place. The UPS still feels solid enough and it's fairly small. "Battery not user replaceable", well I am a qualified electronics engineer so I'll be able to do that - but back in the day, you'd pop off the front, remove a metal plate, slide out the old, then in with the new. Hmmm. Cost cutting? Functionally: The unit kicks-in fine when the input power is disconnected and I didn't find the unit too noisy compared to at least one other review. Having read other reviews, I do have concerns about potential battery quality, but only time will tell. Reliability: To be confirmed. The unit is easy to setup: Read the instructions about plugging in the battery connector on the back otherwise the unit will play dead. Three stars due to not supplying a power lead, the ugly green LEDs and me now concerned having read more reviews about battery issues and early life failures. Do I feel lucky?

Pleased with UPS 950VA unit for PC
Bought a BX950MI unit for my pc workstation and monitor. Easy to set up. Comes with a IEC C13 to C14 cable (kettle type plug, male to female) and usb cable. I bought an additional cable for my monitor. Downloaded powerchute software from manufacturers website to set-up and monitor the UPS. Using Win11 do get a User Account Control message every time I want to open the software GUI (dont seem to be able to set an exception) - this isn’t a problem though, just a little annoying. The software does load on startup. Next day had a blackout within my neighbourhood! (quite rare occurrence, maybe once a year). UPS did it's stuff and it set my PC to hibernate (power off). Little annoyances (1) green strip lights on front are a bit bright (as other reviewers have mentioned -black tape will help), (2) pressing of power button is accompanied by rather loud beep - not sure if I can turn this off in the software. Power draw is 20-30 W while PC is on and UPS on full battery. Device can be turned off with 2(?) second button press so will do this after ive switched PC off. Very pleased with the purchase so far.
