Better than a Toshiba smart tv
Works brilliantly no lag whatsoever connects to the wifi fine and the picture quality is great. Good features has 3 hdmi ports and 2 usb. Great value for money.

Lots to like, lots to frustrate - particularly no screen mirroring for mobile phones and tablets
Okay it's a cheap telly, you shouldn't be too critical of it. I looked at many alternatives before choosing this one and while I'm basically pleased with it, it's not quite as satisfying as I'd hoped. First, the good bits. It comes in a surprisingly compact box, but that's partly because if you plan on putting it on a flat surface, you have to fix the feet yourself. Can't understand why some other people have moaned about this, as it's simple to do and takes barely 5 minutes. The power cord is a bit shorter than I would have liked, guess just over 1 metre, and I can expect some new owners finding they want a longer cable. There are no instructions as such but again this isn't a big deal, it's mostly intuitive and I found everything I wanted to do straightforward and never missed an instruction manual. The TV is lighter than I had expected at 2.9kg. Picture quality is at least good if not very good, not mind-blowing but the price makes me forgive any shortcomings. As far as viewing options are concerned, you get things like Netflix ready-to-go, Youtube, Amazon Prime Video, BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, Channel 4 and Channel 5 plus a variety of lesser known sources such as Freeview Play which isn't the same as Freeview. It does have an internet browser, but that's about as much as you can say. It exists. I won't be using it much, that's for sure. The remote control feels cheap and nasty, and almost every instruction seems to be followed by a time-lag which can be annoying. One example is the volume control, which usually doesn't respond at all on the first attempt, sometimes not the second or even third. This can make it annoying if you find yourself needing to reduce the volume quickly for whatever reason. My main grievance is that I have so far been unable to use this television for the main purpose I bought it for: to watch Sky Movies, Sky Sports and BT Sport. I pay a hefty premium for all that - enough to buy one of these TVs every 3 months - so I think I'm entitled to be disappointed that I can't watch anything from those sources. I hope I've done something wrong, but I have been unable to mirror my iPhone to this TV despite seeming to have exactly the right cable. Same with my Kindle HD - I have a USB-C to HDMI cable which seems to be just the right thing, but, try as I might, I cannot mirror what's on the Kindle to this Philips TV. I've searched for advice online and so far all the information seems incorrect. I guess I could get a Sky Mini-Q box (I've had one before) but that's an expensive solution. There's no bluetooth, I knew that before I bought it but now I kind of wish it was installed. The sound quality from the speakers is below average, and I've already stopped listening that way by using a pair of decent headphones (they cost almost as much as the TV) as there's a headphone socket on the back. Would have preferred it to be on the front, but there you go. Connection to my wifi router was a tedious process as these things usually are (typing in the password etc) but once it's done I can say that the reception is good and consistent with very few dropouts. What few there have been have only lasted a couple of seconds. What I would have liked was a scaled-down version of an up-market TV, but this isn't really how I'd describe it. What it is in practice is a cheap telly with quite a lot going for it but not everything. I could have bought a much costlier Samsung or LG (nearly three times the price) but they would have been 32 inches in size and, now that I have this on my desk, I can tell that 24 inches was the right size. That's the frustrating thing; I wish LG or Samsung made 24 inch versions of those more comprehensively equipped (and Sky-compatible) 32-inch models, but I couldn't find one. If you want to watch Netflix, BBC/ITV/Ch4 and Youtube this is good and gets a solid 4 stars especially when the price is factored in. I don't regret buying it, but I am still very disappointed that I can't watch Sky/BT sport and films on it. That's a big downer in my case. Overall, 4 stars is a touch generous but 3 stars would have been unfair, because I can't ignore the fact that in spite of its shortcomings, you still get a lot for your money here.

Great Picture, Pathetic Sound
Great picture, pathetic sound. It really is feeble. Inadequate. They say full range but the bass is non existent. Terrible sound quality. I will keep the tv for picture quality and buy an external speaker.

Surprised how good the sound was and the picture is clear too

Great features at a reasonable price
First time I've bought a Philips tv in some years. With the possible exception of the stands (small stand each side of the TV), which keeps the TV in place OK, but seem weird in that you need actual screws to connect them to the TV - I like this TV a lot, even if it's smart apps are a little quirky. You have most of the usual app suspects available (Netflix (via dedicated button),iPlayer, ITV Hub, Channel 4, My5, Amazon Prime, even Deezer!), the only noticeable app missing to me was Britbox, but I'm sure that will be addressed. Whilst the app store via the menu has some worthy 'extras' you could add to the main list, there is also a lot of 'shovel ware' (non mainstream rubbish, to my mind) but obviously it's your choice as to whether you select them to add to the main app menu. Picture quality seems pretty good, particularly when using HDR products (such as the prime video app) to take advantage of the HDR10 function. I was surprised to find this unit accepts a direct link from a satellite dish, negating the need for a freesat satellite box, but as I scrapped my satellite (Sky) connection over a year ago, couldn't comment on how well this works. The TV also has USB recording via your own USB stick/drive and the ability to make network/USB connections to run films/etc over your home network (from a PC, for instance). All in all a quality, well featured bit of kit for a reasonable price .

Pardon?
Good picture quality but without doubt the worst sound reproduction of any AV product I have encountered. Think string and tin can walky talky … shockingly bad. Needs a sound bar and/or the lads and lasses at Phillips getting a slap.

Almost useless due to lag
Absolute rubbish, there is a few seconds lag with every key stroke on the remote or TV. Ends up making it unusable. Made worse by a completely daft design to the interface. It is only 1 year old but either it goes in the bin or my wife will put me there! We cannot get local broadcast BBC channels so have to use iPlayer. But the hoops you have to jump through and the lag in the response makes it impossible to use. I got a One 4 All remote which could have the button programmed which helped but doesnt stop the Philips TV being unusable. Dear Santa please buy me a hammer to sort out this piece of junk.
