Affordable, Dependable Solution to Extend a Home Network
The TP-LINK TL-PA7017 KIT has been a good addition to my home network. This powerline adapter extends my broadband connection to my small smart TV which is in a different room, delivering reliable, high-speed internet without my small TV freezing intermittently. Setup was easy, just plug in, pair, and it’s ready to go. I recommend the TP-LINK TL-PA7017 KIT to anyone seeking an affordable, dependable solution to extend their home network.

No faults found with these, they work just fine.
Refurbished but looked as good as new ! Setup and connection was a breeze, they worked just fine on an existing powerline adapter network comprised of a few Zyxel adapters and had no issues at all, so they're compatible with those. Now I get the rated 160mbps from my ISP as the older Zyxels only had a 10/100mbps ethernet port which I hadn't realised and was wondering why no higher throughput - oversight on my part but now totally resolved with these adapters. They do exactly what I purchased them for and now the speed on the network is as it should be in the room I needed them to be in. I might just replace the other Zyxel adapters with these based on them just working as they do out of the box and being refurbished, they're a great bit of value for money.

Renewed had been returned previously and shipped to me without being checked
The product is working fine, but I was disappointed to discover that the 'renewed' product had been returned previously and shipped to me without being checked. The 'refurbished equipment' seal was broken, there were no instructions, and one of the cables was uncoiled. I'm giving it 4 stars because otherwise it's in good condition and working.

Functional despite being misleading
Easy to install. No instruction provided. The unit was refurbished, 2nd have. This was very misleading as the product when purchased did not state this. I bought expecting a new unused unit.

It works
Good quality item that works straight out of the box. My TV was always falling out on wi-fi, since connecting it to this kit it has worked perfectly.

Need WiFi in a different room? Then you need this!
Wifi is great, but when you need it in another room with a few walls between you and the router, then you may struggle to get a clear signal so this option is ideal. You’re supplied with 2 plugs and connecting leads. Plug either one into a mains socket, (preferably not in an extension lead) then use a supplied connecting lead to connect to your router. Then you plug the other one in a nearby socket where you can ‘pair’ the 2 plugs. This just basically means the devices get to ‘see each other’. Once paired, you can then use this 2nd plug in any room. Full & easy instructions are supplied. Bear in mind the plugs both use LAN connections so this is designed to be used with a laptop/PC. However, if you want to use with your phone or tablet, you can purchase an inexpensive (around the £10 mark) adapter which is a useful option. Here’s a typical one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ethernet-Adapter-WALNEW-Converter-Thunderbolt/dp/B08YCYW623/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1AG1RCI4KONWB&keywords=LAN+adapter+for+iPad&qid=1707999735&sprefix=lan+adapter+for+ipad%2Caps%2C90&sr=8-3 The beauty of this system is you don’t need to be a tech wizard to get this working, it really is simple to set up. Hope this helps!

Not bad for the price
I bought a set of these as the WiFI in our house isn't great and my partner wasn't happy about the existing solution of running a network cable through the window. Installation is simple, plug in network cables (two supplied) into the two devices, plug one of the network cables into your home router and plug the device into a power socket (ideally a wall socket, but an extension cable may work if it's not a surge protected extension). Plug the other network cable into the other adaptor and then into a device you want to connect to the network (games console, smart TV, desktop PC, laptop, or maybe a WiFi access point etc) and then plug the device into another mains socket and within a second or two the devices should be paired and create a network link. I knew from experience of these devices I wouldn't get the full 1000Mbit speed (it's "up to" but in my experience I've never come close to that speed). Between our lounge and master bedroom (which is above the lounge) we're getting about 150 to 170Mbit/sec. I found it the connection was faster plugging the device in the bedroom into an extension lead which was on the same wall as the device in the lounge. Trying a socket on the other side of the bedroom the speed was about 40Mbit slower. For reference we have Virgin Media cable which usually gives us around 550Mbit downloads and 50Mbit upload when connected directly to the router with an Ethernet cable so while we're not getting full speeds it's fast enough to stream media on the XBOX and Smart TV in the bedroom (if you're connecting via Ethernet you will need a network switch as there's only one network port on the device itself). Overall for £24 (a saving of about £15) I'm happy with the device. While it's not as quick as running a cable, it's worth it for the faster speeds for now (until we upgrade our WiFi access points or if I could convince my partner to let me run a couple of Ethernet cables).
