MARINELAND NJ021 Clear Water Liquid, 2-Ounce, 59-Ml

It's a unique clarifier that uses potassium permanganate. Doesn't really clump stuff together but actually oxidizes a lot of the organic and particulates in the water column. Clears up your aquarium this way but leaves a residual haze of oxidized manganese or something that I read online. Unfortunately, hydrogen peroxide doesn't clear the haze. I was able to remove it using a foam pre-filter. To keep this from killing your fish I would recommend adding it in your filter outlet so it disperses evenly and not re-dose for more than 48 hours.

I LOVE this product. Potassium permanganate is an effective clarifier that is broken down by the filtration and absorbed by live plants, so it doesn't accumulate in a healthy aquarium.I use it every time i disturb my substrate while planting or moving ornaments. I also use it when after rinsing out filtration equipment.Some of the anaerobic bacteria that are crucial in the nitrogen cycle of the filter, and live in the substrate, can cause bad Ebola-like infections in our fish.Most notable is Aeromonas aquaticum*, which is present in basically every freshwater ecosystem. We want these bacteria to clump up and get grabbed by the filter as soon as possible and not hang in the water column where our fish can breathe them and swallow them.Supposedly, in high concentrations, this can kill snails on plants, but I have not had luck with that.I recently learned that this chemical also neutralizes some of the toxins produced by bluegreen algae. If you can't get slime algae out of your tank, at least you can stop it from killing your fish by using this prophylactically approximately once a week, and changing your filter carbon about every two weeks. Be sure to rinse carbon well: The dust can kill fish by choking their gills.*Aeromonas can make people sick, too: flooded farm fields have to be "rested" for several months before they can be harvested so that the bacteria can die off. This has happened to me as a volunteer at a food bank garden. Therefore, using this product is also protecting your own health.

Clears water up great! Doesn’t harm fish. I would recommend!

I returned this. It actually made my aquarium water more cloudy. This was after adding the drops overnight.

Wouldn't buy anything else! Well I have and nothing compares. Nothing else works as well or as fast. This leaves my tank sparkling clear. I last bought it 9 months ago for a 10 gallon tank so it last forever and I don't have to do water changes ever it I also do not over feed my fish and use rest strips to make sure to treat the water for any ammonia buildup. I probably have to add a gallon and a half a week due to evaporation from the heater so my the end of the month that's a partial "change" on it's on with being almost half the tanks volume.

Find that turns fish tank a little cloudy, however do clear it up a little.
