I have tried several different wooden versions and none hold up to this. It is also the only one I've found that will truly cut a full 4 inch strip.

Strap cutter is made of cast aluminum. My product that I received had a stray sharp piece of metal on it. Should have been removed during production, however I sanded it off so I could use it safely. Upon using the cutter a few times, it seemed to improve it's strap cutting ability, possibly because the leather was sharpening the blade. Good price for what it does, and it comes with extra blades. I recommend this, however use safety precautions as it has an exposed blade. You might want to sharpen this with a leather strap before using to avoid frustration.

I've had this in my hands for just hours and I already LOVE it. It is easy to put together, and SOoo easy to use! It feels sturdy in your hands while you work with it. It is a simple tool that does what it's supposed to amazingly and simplifies making anything you need with long narrow pieces. I thought I would feel unsafe and that ot would be a decent learning curve but it's just the opposite. I actually feel really safe using this tool and I figured it out real quick turning out straight professional looking straps in no time. Definitely a game changer!!

Loved this little tool, I do a lot of leatherwork and got a this strap cutter as a replacement to an older version I had. Works great, easy to put pieces together, and has nice thick blades to use for it.

Sloppy machine tolerances mean the guide wiggles a bit within the handle so you're risking uneven cutting. Not great. But marginally better than no tool at all.

If you mount this in a vice it's much easier to use. As for new razor blades I found if you grind a little material off the back edge of a utility knife blade it fits right into the mounting slot. Much cheaper and cuts just as good as the supplied blades.

One of my 2 screws came without threads and there appears to be a broken off screw in the handle hole?

Appears that there is broken tooling inside threaded hole.

Blade is very sharp and protrudes from the item. Care must be taken
