I bought this to make ferrous sulfate developer for wet-plate tintype photography. For that, it works great! Using this ferrous sulfate powder, I'm able to make that developer far, far cheaper than it would cost for a pre-mixed solution. 20 grams of this dissolves very well in 500ml of water. The packaging is easily manipulated while wearing rubber gloves but holds it's contents firmly. I've just happily ordered my second bottle.

This material is highly contaminated. There's no way it's ACS grade. When I dissolved it in distilled water, there were black particulates floating, and the solution was very, very cloudy. It had to be filtered to clarify it. This seems like agricultural, feed-grade material. You can buy that for much less.

This is exactly what I needed for mushroom identification! Quality is good, I get exactly the color change expected. And it was so much cheaper than local suppliers!
