I was skeptical at first but these really work. My boyfriend and I buy most of our groceries at Costco and the fruits and veggies almost always go bad before we can finish it all. But its still cheaper than buying it from other supermarkets so…Well I took a chance on this product and I’ve been pleasant surprised with how well it works. It extends the longevity of your produce so that it won’t spoil and go in the trash. Its less wasteful and better for the environment…something I’ve been trying to be more conscious about. Cutting down on plastic/paper waste was pretty easy with mesh produce bags and sponge cloths like this instead of paper towels. But food waste has been more difficult to tackle until I found these! You just place it in the fridge or wherever you keep your produce. Theres a packet inside the blue apple that absorbs ethylene gas, the things that causes your food to ripen. Most of our fruits go into the humidity control drawer in the fridge so that’s where we have ours. Before we got these, our produce would go bad so quickly (sometimes in 3-4 days) but now that can easily last 1-2 weeks. Lettuce, apples, bananas, onions, ginger, it works for everything. You can tell it’s fresher by just looking at it. They don’t get soggy anymore. It hasn’t been 3 months yet so I haven’t had to replace them yet but it sounds easy enough. You just twist open the plastic container and replace the packet. The product comes with 8 refills so that should last me at least a year. Not sure if I can buy just the refills themselves but I’ll figure that out when I have to. I would highly recommend it if you’re experiencing the same problem that I was having. The effect is noticeable, and you’ll save money from not having to buy as much groceries. Yes the product itself isn’t cheap at $20 for 2 but it won’t take long for you to get that money back from your produce. PS- The Bluapple is made in the US, not China!

Tried with peaches 3 times when they were in season. Didn't work, they rotted quickly; was much better not to expose them to the blue apple. Tomatoes, Avocado, onions, apples, lettuce, broccoli etc, in the refrigerator or on the kitchen counter, stay fresher longer. It's worth the cost to me since I LOVE fruits and vegetables, and it reduces food waste, an issue I'm concerned about. Wish it was cheaper though.

I ordered & placed the blue apple fruit & vegetable in my refrigerator. They are supposed to help with ethynol gases and keep both fruits & vegs fresher. They have been in my refrigerator awhile but I have yet to notice if my fruits are fresher & not overiping as fast. Hopefully more time will tell.

Yeah, this stuff actually works really well. Drop a Blueapple into your produce bin and stuff that would sprout new life forms and new civilizations after a few days of being ignored remains crisply inert for at least a week or two. Don't judge me.

Great product. Drastically reduces waste

So far these blue balls are nice. Wait, that don't sound right. Anyway, I was hopeful but skeptical when I saw them on a local news segment, but decided to give them a try, hoping it would keep my stuff from going limp after only a short while. Initially we put them in the crisper drawers, where most things are in open bags. At first I really couldn't tell if it was doing anything or not though. Things seemed to stay fresh, but were also being used before they would go bad either way. One of the things that always goes bad quickly are bags of store bought shredded lettuce we occasionally get. After only a couple of days it will usually have turned mostly brown and wilted. I decided to throw one of these in the bag and closed it off. While it didn't perform a miracle, it did extend it's life to almost a week. So color me somewhat impressed anyway. It's not going to render your vegetable immune to decay, but it does seem to be working to keep things from going limp in my drawers. Um...yeah.

I received only two bluapples, but consignment didn't contain any refills. In the product description it is written as, 2 bluapples and 8 refills, which will serve for 1year. But I didn't receive any refills.

I wasn't sure about the product, but my produce was getting bad too often so I decided to try. I can say it works as described, from things going to the garbage in 1 week, now they last at least for 2 weeks so I can eat them instead of throwing away food. Happy customer!
