Well written and hilarious
I homeschool my 11 year old granddaughter and we are reading this series together. We both love the heroin, Cimorene! The storyline is great and the text challenges her reading skills. And it's full of humor and twists and turns... Highly recommended for kids and adults alike.

An Enchanting, Magical World of Dragons, Princesses, Princes, A World of Courage and of Darkness
The stories in these four books will keep those pages turning for younger and older. The story centers on The Enchanted Forest, its young King (well, young in Books 1-2), a non-traditional Princess (Cimorene) of splendid competencies including making dragon-size portions of cherries jubilee, a large vividly realized cast of characters including fresh takes on older friends such as Morwen, the witch-with-seven-cats.Best of all, are the dragons, specially Kazul the King of Dragons, she whom Princess Cimorene serves. LOTS of dragons with distinct dragonalities with whom Cimorene has to deal or handle or get along. A Coming of Age tale, yes, but for many ages!I had thought about getting one book to see how I liked it but I'm glad I bought all four at once. The quartet interlocks effectively and it is considerably less expensive to get this set.A friend had gotten me enthused as she described Book 4 as her favorite, much loved book from her girlhood. She remembers herself as 8 or 9 at the time. Some children that young could read & enjoy the tales. Ten to twelve probably would be a better age if the reader is thinking about "The Enchanted Forest Chronicles" as a gift for an imaginative young person who liked---for example, "Brave," whose reading level is beyond "The Hobbit" and who is not quite ready for "The Lord of the Rings."Or as a gift for yourself!ANY ALERTS?: These books are addictive! This is, best started when the reader can enter this world and remain there until the last page of each book. Otherwise expect, "Just one page more, OK?"

Delightful storytelling
Having enjoyed these books when they first came out, I decided to share them with my grandnephews. They are finding them as entertaining as I did. They love the unconventional princess, and the different take on dragons. They love how unique the characters are and how much fun their adventures are.Can highly recommended this for adults to enjoy, as well as children. A collection that is perfect to read together, as a family. There is something enjoyable for every age.

Buy this book series!
I loved this book series growing up and keep buying them for any young ladies in my life. My nieces both have adored the series too and I was so happy to share the story of Cimorene and Kazul with them!It has it all, a self rescuing princess, dragons, magic, witches, adventure! STRONG FEMALE LEAD/depiction!! I couldn't recommend any book series more for girls 12+! if they are 10-12 maybe ready it to them as my mom did and I loved them as a kid and read them again/still as an adult.

A fun light read
I read these books when I was a kid and I was so glad to see this deal! And after reading them i realized that I think I only actually read the first without realizing there were 3 more so imagine my surprise! They are definitely light reading and delightful and I loved seeing the authors notes on how they were developed and flushed out. Cimorene is a fun strong willed character to follow. I'm so glad I finally got to see the completion of the journey. I wouldn't say it's something that I picked up and had to keep reading until late at night but it definitely was enjoyable. It's a great series you can pace yourself with and still get other things done without having to remember too many cumbersome details.

This set of books accompanied our daughter everywhere from age 8 to 14....
This is one of those stories that a girl will read, and read again, and read again, and....Just a clever premise that is well executed and thoroughly enjoyable. As a parent, I haven't minded re-reading it aloud more than once either. There are several books that a child will undoubtedly encounter because of their popularity and cultural impact, but this is a rare gem story that can simply be overlooked and missed altogether...and that's a shame because it deserves a wider audience.

Quality
Beautifully packaged. Mine were for a gift so I don't have a report on how much they were enjoyed.
