Some other people have complained that this book doesn’t go in depth enough and that you should just read this specifications instead. I think that is obviously a very unhelpful idea, seeing as it’s very hard to know where to start when learning about a topic as complex as this. I can confidently say that this is the place to start! This book is well written, holds your hand through a lot of the topics without being too dry, and at the end you will know the basics about all aspects of the technology, and you should have a clear path forward from there on how to get deeper understanding on the parts you need. Definitely start with this book, and move on to specs later only if you need to

This book is an good introduction to NR standard, but it does not go any deeper than simple understanding. If you read the spec, you may learn more than the book.

The 5G Radio Access Bible

Using this book to make sense out of 3GPP TS, TRs and Link Level simulator. It explains IMHO quite well, without roundabouts. Of course, knowledge on fundamentals of wireless communications and signal processing is expected.
