Purchased to use immediately following hip replacement surgery. Hospital provided a pair of ice pads but they weren't adequate for covering the swollen area. The MAGIC GEL HIP ICE PACK WRAP AFTER SURGERY is large enough to cover and and reduce swelling. Because the swollen area was longer than it was wide, I removed the straps and placed the MAGIC GEL HIP ICE PACK along the side of my hip and upper thigh. It might have been important to use the straps if I was icing while walking; but I only applied the HIP ICE PACK during intervals of rest. It gets cold quickly when laid flat in the freezer. I used a frozen pizza box for stability. The GEL HIP ICE PACK stayed ice cold far longer than intermittent ice therapy required. I used it every couple of hours, but the ICE PACK was frozen and ready to use within an hour in the freezer. The cover is water resistant and easy to wipe off with a damp or wet sponge (reserved for the use). The bright purple fabric and fuschia trim made it seem more fun than therapeutic, though ice therapy after hip replacement is essential for managing discomfort and swelling. Highly recommend the MAGIC GEL HIP ICE PACK WRAP AFTER SURGERY. Haven't tried it yet but I am certain it's just the right size and shape for soothing my next bachache.

This was a lifesaver after hip surgery!! It helped keep the soreness and swelling down. It stayed cold long enough to be very beneficial and stayed in place. Was ready to use again with 2 to 3 hours. This is definitely a must for anyone going through hip surgery recovery and after physical therapy sessions.

Got this for after my total hip replacement. It’s a good product and works well. I give it 4 stars because the material is not soft on the skin. Also, the leg strap goes through a buckle and it’s hard to put on and take off when you can hardly stand or bend at the waist. The other ice pack I ordered from another brand has the leg strap velcro directly on the pack. I came to really appreciate this after surgery.

I've been having pain from a degenerated hip joint lately, and hoped this Ice Pack would help with the problem. It has! It fits snugly against the joint, held in place by two velcro straps (around my leg and waist), exactly as shown in the product photo. Gets (and stays) plenty cold. Highly recommended.

I have used this for a week now. I was afraid the size would be too big. But it actually wraps around where it’s supposed to. I like the fit. Yes, if you freeze it, you have to let it sit out for at least 15 minutes before it’s playable. (Sp) . Stays cold for the recommended time ,(20 minutes).

Looks nice, good quality materials. Though even as extra large size does not fit around the hip or thigh for adult male after hip surgery. Loses coolness rapidly and need to freeze for another 2 hours. Possibly will be fine if size fits. Longer Velcro straps would be beneficial. Covers the hip area sufficiently.

Worked great! It is a little stiff right out of the freezer, but that is expected. Highly recommend if you have a hip replacement or some other kind of hip surgery or fall. I am 5.6 148lb and the regular size fit great.

I like that I could put it on and off myself and that it’s has two places to secure on the leg. Another model that I purchased did not this day secure where you wanted to stay. I am very happy may buy a second one.

Best purchase I’ve ever made. Required for recuperation after hip surgery. Easy to put on, holds cold longer than 30 minutes. Would purchase again

Hace un año pedí la normal, todo bien. Se adapta bien, cinchas correctas y era más o menos amplia. Este año, debido a una cirugía, decidí coger la extragrande, y la acabo de devolver ya que, a pesar de tener mejores acabados (por un lado es como de pelito), el tamaño es, de hecho, más pequeño que el normal. Por lo que si os importa el tamaño y lo que buscáis es una bolsa grande, es mejor que cojáis la normal.

Excellent fit and stays in place. I definitely recommend for hip bursitis.
