Best invention ever!
Thank heavens for this timed locker! I cannot be left alone with sweets. I have no willpower. I have hurt myself overeating candy all my life. I always dreamed of something like this. It has been an answer to my prayers. Great price, good quality, does what is promised. Now I’m like those cats at their automatic feeder! Thank you to the creator of this safe.

Well made, does what it's supposed to!
It does what it says it does. For someone like me, it helps get rid of the self in self-control. Makes you stick to your decisions! The box is very spacious. I can fit many items in it and it's super easy to use; just turn the dial and push down. It even gives you 5 seconds to reconsider! Doesn't look special but it does what it is supposed to. More about functionality than being pretty but it is well made and is by no means ugly. I dropped the lid once (on carpet) and have had no issues. It's definitely sturdy enough that once you lock your stuff up, you know there's no easy way to "break in" unless you decide to bust some tools out. Regardless, that defeats the purpose! Well made product for the right reasons. Believe what you saw on shark tank!

Great solution for people on certain medications.
I bought this specifically to use to lock my car key fobs and firearms away while I am temporarily taking certain medications (such as Ambien) for which sleepwalking or hallucinations can be a side affect. I bought the medium version with the white base, so I can't even see what is inside, and then I put it in a closet so I can't even see it. My two small revolvers fit inside perfectly. When I was married, I didn't have these concerns as I had someone to help manage these situations, but now that I live alone, I feel that a product like this can really help when taking certain medications. I just set the time for eight or more hours and then reset as needed, but I could easily set for 12 hours or more since I have no intent of driving for at least 10 days until I am done with these meds. The maximum set time is 10 days, but you can always add more time once time has elapsed. Keep in mind there is NO override to open it, so if you are dead set on getting into it, you will have to bust it open with a hammer or something. I saw one review where someone bolted the box down to a surface so that they couldn't just carry the box with the car key fobs and drive off, but one could just as easily remove the fob batteries before locking the fobs in the box. I do intend to loan this to any of my friends who are in the same predicament regarding their medications. And, those with kids with phone addictions, this would be a great thing. The price tag of $60 is a small price to pay for not having to worry about driving (or worse) while on certain medications.

Works great at breaking bad habits
I love using this product to stop myself from going on my phone so much. Once you start implementing this into your daily routine, you will see many changes for the better in your life! Especially if using for your phone, you learn to be away from it and to not focus on the stresses that phones can create. I highly recommend this product also because of the sturdiness of the box. The full white base is the one I got and the plastic is thick enough where I don’t feel like it’ll crack. It has proven to be very effective in the weeks that I have had it. The functionality of the timer is awesome as well. I love how easy it is to set a time up on it and to quickly do so as sometimes I hesitate in wanting to put my phone in there. But once I do I can’t go back and that is a great thing!

Great First Version BUT
The display is always on and this drains the batteries. It needs a display time out and wake built-in feature. It seems like the product engineers could easily add a week or month feature in addition to the days counter, very simply. The product so far is excellent overall. The click wheel is smooth and the feedback is great. It would make sense to have a small price difference between the different size container purchase options. The unit is somewhat top-heavy and it would be great to see the designers combat that in a later version of this product. The name Kitchen Safe seems to be narrowly scoped for what many users intent to keep in the safe; i.e. cigarettes, phones, or other non-food based, timed, personal rewards. Although it was the wonderful inspiration for the original concept. I was going back and forth from white base to the transparent and I am so glad I went with the white base. The anxiety of seeing the item out of reach would have been much worse than having to verify the item is in fact inside. When I lock away something that I need to keep out of reach, there is no way I can forget that item due to it coming to this point. I put my iPhone inside and then use my Apple watch to message or answer any important calls. All this safe does is keep me away from doom-scrolling after work. The effects on me so far have been extraordinary. I also keep my watch only on 'do not disturb' and that has cut my screen time in half because much of the information I'd like to access frequently is on my GPS only watch. That saves me from opening unnecessary apps. Overall recommend, and I will likely invest in later product editions as well.

Rebels can finally be productive!
I’m so glad someone finally invented this. I’m what Gretchen Rubin calls the “rebel type” which means I cannot follow through with other’s expectations or my own expectations. I will always, always rebel from all expectations. Rebels conserve choice at all times and when a choice is made, the rebel will compulsively choose the opposite to ensure they can choose their fate. It’s like having a bratty pre-teen in your brain at all times. Naturally I’ve spent years attempting to correct this behavior in myself. Especially since I need to be gainfully employed and also need to improve my life. I used to go to hotels far from home to complete big projects and it WORKED because in a cruddy City with no car my choices were incredibly limited, so I was able to choose the project I came there to complete and finally, I completed something! Yay! But hotels are expensive and I can’t just be leaving my family every time I need to do something. This is where the jar comes in! I’m writing a book, and actually have a deadline (crap!) so I carefully manufactured a choice-less environment for myself. I drive to the local college library 15 miles from home. There is no internet there. I wrap my car keys in tin foil so my keyless fob doesn’t work while inside the jar (I could take the jar in my car and it would turn on without this trick). I place my keys and my phone in this box and set it for four hours. In this environment, I have no ability to surf. I can’t text friends. There’s no where to walk. No stores to buy things. I can’t choose (aka convince myself) to leave and run errands. I HAVE TO WORK! There is literally very few choices. In this way, I am able to be productive for four hours despite the bratty teen in my head! Thank you for inventing it! Worth its weight in gold!

It really helps
I read an article that said these lockboxes should be a "last resort," and gave you all the other things you should try first. I suspect that most people, like me, have already tried those other things. Smartphones are so sneakily addictive, even if you use blocking software and so forth, you still have plenty of time during the day to indulge your addiction. The safe made it possible for me to FEEL what actually not having my phone available was like. I lock it up for 3-4 hours at a time while I work from home. I have an Apple Watch, so I can still get calls and texts. Because I already have the phone locked up, it's easier for me to turn on my Freedom blocking software on the computer. It's transformed my work life. Most of us need scaffolding to break a habit. That's what this provides. It gives you a great starting place. I find I reach for my phone less now even when it's not locked up. It's not cheap, but if it improves my productivity, it saves me much more than it cost. Good product.

As advertised
Simple and easy to use. I like the opaque base, so it is out of sight (even if it is not out of mind…). This is not an industrial safe of course. One solid hit with a regular claw hammer will shatter the base without damaging the lid (don’t ask me how I know this). If you are determined to get your item out, you can, but it is built in willpower for “cookies” or whatever you want to use less of. I am pleased with my purchase and recommend this wholeheartedly. And, replacement bases can be purchased on their site for a very reasonable price so if the temptation is too great, you don’t have to buy a whole new unit.
