Being a fan of bass, especially loud bass I was not expecting too much from these little guys. The build quality is awesome. For only being 8” subwoofers these are heavier than a lot of 12” subwoofers on the market. I installed two of these Sundowns in a front firing ported box about 1cuft per subwoofer underneath my rear seat in my crew cab Sierra. I powered the subs with a 1500.1 Memphis audio class D Monoblock amplifier. The amp being 1ohm stable I wired the subs parallel/ parallel to 1ohm. I have the gain set to about 3/4 and these speakers are taking the 500rms that they claim with no problem. The speakers can be punchy like a set of 10’s or hit that extremely low bass like 15’s. If you are on the fence about buying these subwoofers don’t be. For the money you can’t beat it. I normally use JL Audio subwoofers but these have met and exceeded my expectations. Just make sure you know what your amp is stable at and buy the right ohm speakers and know how to wire them to meet the criteria of your amp and you’ll be extremely pleased.

Ok... I researched subs for 3 months trying to decide. I was stuck on Rockford fosgate bc they do have great sound. But then I heard about this little 8”. Ha. Well it ain’t so little. I couldn’t believe how much it weighed. I had a Memphis 12” and this 8” v3 hits lows harder than the Memphis 12” did. The sound quality of this sub is perfect. I only bought one but it’s plenty!! I listen to mostly rap. I paired it with the Rockford prime 500 which actually the birth sheet said 625 watts. Update... I’ve had this about 7 months now. My friends still can’t believe i only have one 8” sub.. I didn’t realize they can hear me coming up the road. I’m still very pleased with this purchase. The fosgate amp is great too. Never gets hot. Perfect for this sub. If u get this sub go ahead and get the LAB slapbox for $149. It’s made just for this sub. U won’t be disappointed. If ur gonna buy it at least make it sound like it’s supposed to. box is important 👍🏼
