Amplified Holy Bible, Bonded Leather, Burgundy, Thumb Indexed: Captures the Full Meaning Behind the Original Greek and Hebrew

Purchased from Amazon Warehouse (used as new) and cheaper, perfect condition just untidy box it came in. I already have the Amplified Study Bible but it's really heavy for holding on my lap when reading in bed and this is perfect. Lovely bonded leather cover with gold edge pages and book mark edges. Print size is smaller than the Study Bible but as an older person it is no problem with my reading glasses. Has made such a difference to my older bible as this is more like reading the word of God as a story and so much easier to understand.. I highly recommend this Bible as easy to read and understand and good value.

This slimline Newly Revised Amplified Bible is the best translation I’ve ever read - and I’ve tried all of them over the years. The amplification of Hebrew/Aramaic/Greek emphasis is so powerful, It really brings the word alive. I’ve been blown away by this version and I prefer it now over the original or ‘Classic’ version. They’ve done a really good job of making the text read more naturally and fluid, with or without the definitions in brackets. An unexpected surprise was the inclusion of verse helps and study notes at the bottom of each page and some essential end-of-verse cross references throughout. The font isn’t too small either, at about 8.5 size, being so clear and well spaced that I manage to see this even without my reading glasses! I love the textured, deep ruby, bonded leather cover, the smyth-sewn fine binding and red ribbon marker. What with the added indexing and gilded edges, this looks to be more expensive than it is. This is definitely my go-to Bible. With such brilliant amplification, I am finding I can’t put it down. The only disappointment for some might be the absense of any maps or concordance and Jesus’s words are not in red. However, this has not put me off at all and I’m really enjoying my lightweight, portable, exciting new Bible! It comes nicely boxed with a presentation page, so would make an ideal gift.

Best Large print bible

It is slimline, the writing is big enough so you don’t have to strain to read and the binding is really good quality.

This Bible is about A5 size so don’t expect a weighty tome. It’s very handy to carry and the finger index is quick to use. It contains all the text in readable type, but you might want to buy the Large Print, if you need any larger for really poor light or comfort really. I know the slightly high cost is for the bonded leather cover, so it’s nice and durable also.

Such a wonderful version for bible study. Highly informative. It has a pungent petroleum-like smell. I would hope they'll resort to using non-petrosmelling materials.

They should know if they really want to get more out of studying the Bible, this is the way to go. They should get the amplified Bible and the amplified study guide.

This is just what I was looking for as an alternative to the versions I have on the shelf already. It will get a lot of use, and I may order another....
