Does Dr Tim's ammonia and 8oz of turbo start to a 36 gallon tank and it cycled in 6 days! Put a pair of snowflake clowns in on day 9 and, they're happy and healthy a month later. Absolutely would use again! Review: Excellent product for cycling a saltwater tank - My bare bottom saltwater tank cycle stalled with high nitrites for >5-6 weeks (I attempted to cycle vis dosing a mix of ammonia and fish food; no fish were present). I initially inoculated the tank with Dr. Tim’s, tried multiple water changes, kept phosphate levels elevated, added Seachem Stability; all without success. Within 2 days of using this product, the nitrites dropped by 2PPM. Very impressed with how quickly it worked. The product shipped with a cold pack, though was arrived at ambient temp due to a shipping delay. However, this didn’t seem to have an impact on the effect. There was a slight sulfur odor but this dissipated rather quickly. I also greatly exceeded the recommended dosing (I dumped in 4oz for a 5 gallon tank) with great results. I highly recommend using this product for cycling dry rock saltwater tank. Just spend the extra money upfront instead of wasting time and money on other products.

Speeds up cycle but be careful about adding livestock. Test daily
It's pretty strong and seems to work but no way it works in a week. I'm on week 3 and it's been cycled but if I add fish or many inverts it will cycle again. So take it slow, test daily.

Took slightly longer during shipment but arrived in cold packets !
Product arrived with cold packets , which is a plus. But arrived a day late and through usps (not reliable to deliver on time), and not Amazon shipping. I had already added a bottle of this the day before in an oversized aquarium. Kinda ruined the plan for adding bacteria. But this product is good and works !

TurboStart Instant Cycle
This is a proven product for me, it’s reliable when adding fish at the same time or if you’re pre cycling rock use the fishless fuel. More is better, not less is more. Make sure you have plenty of rock and biomedia for the bacteria to attach to. I recommend having cycled base rock, using live sand, and 2-3x the dose of turbostart. You may never see any ammonia. Also, api test kits give false positives on trace ammonia or nitrite.

Quality: 5 stars, quantity: quantity: 1 star
This products deserves two ratings. I used it to try to fix a cycle that appear stalled. I used a product from a different manufacturer to start a fishless cycle. Two months later, my tank was processing ammonia quickly, but my nitrites were staying sky high. I added two ounces of Turbo Start to the tank and nitrites can down quickly within two days. So A+ on that. However, this is advertised as a 4-ounce bottle, and it only contained three ounces. The bottle arrived well sealed and was not leaking. So grade of F for selling a product containing only 75 percent of the advertised amount.
