Made in Japan used to mean cheap.
It works and how a little expensive but if you are into it it’s worth it.

not worth it.
these are hardly concave. they will not dig in as you cut. the cut edge is actually flat. I now need to spend more money to get a better pair that will actually cut in a concave angle. the rounded areas of this tool do nothing to make the cut concave because it is actually flat at the cutting edge. also, the stopper that is designed to stop you from applying too much pressure to the cut edge is all for looks, it does not touch properly. the cut edge can be damaged due to this flaw.

Yeah get these if you need them. They are Legit.
Theubdobthe job just oil then sanatize first after working with trees. So you won't transfer bigs or disease. These are pretty good. Smaller than expected but they work!

High quality!
This is a high quality tool and is stamped made in Japan. The rivet is strong and it has a good weight to it. It cuts through 1/2” branches like butter or when trimming back larger roots. I definitely recommend this.

I have come to expect good things from Hanafubuki as I have some of thier other products and they are all fantastic, and this is no exception. With proper care this should last a lifetime and will be something I hand down to my son. I highly recommend this along with other Hanafubuki tools.

This knob cutter is poorly made for the expected quality and price. Cutting edges are mis-aligned and are chipped at the edges. The tool is also dull making it unusable for detailed bonsai work. Disappointed as I have previously purchased Wazakura scissors and wire cutters, and they were of a decent quality for price. Returned this product.

Light Duty Only – Not for Hardwood or Serious Work I bought these expecting durable Japanese quality, but the design is very light duty. The stop allows the jaws to bypass and strike each other, which chipped the cutting edges after only a few cuts on oak. Once that happens, the tool tears wood instead of cutting cleanly. They might be fine for small green twigs or softer species, but they’re not built for heavier bonsai work. If you need a concave/knob cutter for hardwood or larger branches, invest in a higher-grade brand like Kaneshin or Ryuga.

Seems a little rough round the edges.
