Review: Fantastic Potty Training Book, One of Our Faves! - This is a fantastic potty training kids' book! We had the first edition, but after lots of love (and wear and tear), we needed a replacement. This version keeps the same fun story and adorable and well done illustrations but includes some nice improvements. The lettering is larger and easier to read, and some of the lift-the-flap sections are lighter in color, making them easier for little ones to spot and interact with. Itās a great book for potty training and one of the few we donāt mind reading over and over, because, letās be honest, thatās inevitable, haha! All in all, itās a fun and engaging book thatās totally worth picking up. Would recommend for anyone going through the excitement of potty training! Review: This has become my magic miracle poop book! - This book has been a true magic miracle book for me. My son is 12 months old and I can say that I have become an expert in treating constipation through his diet and have tried everything as natural as possible as I am completely anti laxatives. I have used pediatric glycerine suppositories as the strongest thing and only every 3 days for about a month at one point. Now with hindsight, I actually think that my baby has been toilet savvy from about the age of 4 months (yes hard to believe but I actually think it's true as I practiced EC (Elimination communication for those of you who have never heard of this) from around then but not all the time. The few times I did it was apparently enough for him to understand that toilets are for 'business'. I then stopped the EC (big mistake) and my constipation woes began. Finally at 7.5 months when he started crawling, he surprised me one day and crawled to the toilet & sure enough, needed to go poop. From that day on I have been offering him 3 times a day poop opportunity on the toilet using a little reducer seat. He went from being constipated for months & me having to help him by using suppositories to then going regularly ever 2 days on his own, no more suppositories, happiness. Then I recently bought this book. (he is now 13 months old) From the FIRST time he read it, he has graced me with a lovely poop every day & absolutely loves this book and has completely made the connection that every one, including all his favorite animals, a boy (that I tell him is him in the book) & a girl too at the end of the book go poop. He then proudly points to the poop on the last page in the toilet (under the flap) looks at me and then points down through his legs at his poop in the toilet he is sitting on! I am amazed, so happy that he actually finds it all so relaxing to read that it gets him in 'the mood' & is now going every day! I have called this the magic poop book as for me it truly has been quite the miracle worker!

Interactive Gem
My son loved reading this while learning how to potty train. It was a great introduction into this life long skill. Each page has multiple flip-ups to help keep my child engaged and interacting with the story. He loved how each page had a parent and a few things to throw him off of finding the poop. The last page we both found hilarious and adorable. The author took a topic that is not usually talked about and made it cute, fun, engaging, and easy to talk about. Everyone does it and this book also helped talk about science like animals, habitats, and the digestive system. The book isn't long either. He liked reading it while using the restroom or right before bed. The drawings are vibrant and adorable, really showcasing the animals in their environments. The only draw back is if your child isn't ready for flip-up tabs then you have to watch them very closely. My son pulled about five off before I caught him in the act. Also, the pages or a little thicker than regular pages but not hard like a board book. We really enjoyed this book and all it had to offer.

Beautiful book and perfect for potty training
I love this book! My 2-year old is potty training and is reluctant to poop in the potty. This book has been great for stimulating her interest in it. The illustrations of different animal mommies and daddies and their babies are gorgeous and the little peek-a-boo flaps clever. Behind some of the flaps are poops and behind others there are fun surprises like animals and waterfalls. She enjoys opening all of them but her favorite is of course finding the poop. Sure it's one of those topics not discussed in polite conversation but kids who are potty training really benefit from this kind of "out in the open" talk of pooping as a natural process that everyone goes through. There are far too few books that address this. I have over a dozen "potty books" but all they really talk about is peeing, or, if going poop is even mentioned it's glossed over. I like how they show a human child goes poop too, along with the animal babies. But more importantly, my daughter loves to read it...it's one of her favorite books. She gets to read 3 stories before bed and many nights she just wants this book, repeated twice! Full disclosure: I can't say that it has helped with convincing her to go #2 in the potty, but she is at least excited about the topic and talks opening and excitedly about it now. If it wasn't such a "delicate" topic I'd give this book to every mom and dad of a two year old!

My granddaughter laughed & laughed at this book.
Knowing potty training was ahead, I purchased this to read to my granddaughter. My granddaughter loved it at 2 & 3 when we read a lot of books, liked it a lot at 4 when we were reading less, & still asks to hear it occasionally at 5 when we seldom make time for books. She loved lifting the flaps & she thought some of the words were humorous as well. The writer obviously understood what little kids would enjoy. If I'm allowed to say this, the subject is tastefully handled. I believe this book helped to psychologically prepare her to handle the difficult task of being potty trained after being trained to go in diapers for so long. We had two other potty training books, but this was her favorite as well as mine. She loved the last page so much that she would want to do that one over & over. I loved how much she laughed every time she lifted that last flap & heard me read what the little girl in the book says. The words don't strike me as very funny, though I try to make it sound funny. I think part of it is that my granddaughter loved that the little girl can tell a grown up very politely that she is being disturbed while doing something important. Also, children just love doors & the flap is the bathroom door. The 2nd best book was called Everyone Poops. It didn't make her laugh, but had other benefits. I'll try to review it on Amazon also.

Hilarious and Effective
I've owned this book for five years, utilizing it for potty training my son and daughter. While it might not be everyone's favorite humor or teaching style, it definitely works for my kids! They love it and reach for it often, in and out of the bathroom! The flaps make it more interactive and I like that the animal droppings are consistently found under the last flap on the page. This is very helpful in my opinion since the poop doesn't always resemble a child's understanding of it should look like (cue the penguin's pink poop š). If your family has open conversations about bowel movements, loves animals, and has slapstick humor -- here's your next read!

I truly think it helped my son!
My 2.5 year old LOVES this book! We started potty training two weeks ago, and after about a week still hadnāt gotten him to poop on the potty. The biggest problem was that he would only poop in his sleep/at night in his diaper, even when we could tell he probably needed to before going to bed. We bought this book to try and at least get more conversation going around the idea of poop (I know that will feel really ironic in 4-5 years when heās super into potty humor), and I think it worked! Ever since we got it he has requested it multiple times a day. A few days after reading it many times, I could ask him where his poop was and he would point at his bottom, but still wouldnāt poop in the toilet. Well, tonight, after 2 weeks of potty training, he went in the toilet before going to bed!ā This felt like a huge victory and I truly think this book helped him have the confidence to try. Talking and thinking about poop each night in the form of this cute book helped him get there. Even if youāre just starting out with potty training and not having any problems, this is just a really cute book to add to your collection.

My daughter loves this book!
My 4 year old daughter loves this book! Itās one of those āread it again!ā books in our house right now lol. After a few times reading it through, she can now flip through and āread itā herself. Itās cute and silly. I initially had bought the book in hopes of helping her to finish potty training. We were almost there but not quite. Sheās now completely potty trained :) I canāt 100% say if this book helped specifically with that, but itās worth a shot! She loves it, and thatās enough for me.
