Elite Montessori Sound Boxes

Good Montessori product!! It's very durable and fun.

These are well made materials.

These are not true Montessori sound cylinders. They are just wooden cylinders randomly filled. The shape of them is completely different from what is pictured. And, most disappointingly, the sounds in one box do not match the sounds in the second box, so the child cannot practice discriminating and matching sounds with them. The first time I ordered, the sand from one of the cylinders was spilled out through the box where the cheaply glued on lid came off. I ordered a replacement and, with the second, one of the cylinders in one of the boxes was completely empty. If you are just looking for a toy for your child to shake, there are much cheaper options. And if you are looking for actual Montessori sound cylinders, these are unfortunately not them.

The Montessori sound box was bought to use with our grandson who enjoys using them. I, was at first skeptical about it use but my wife showed me how fascinated our grandson was in comparing the sounds coming from each box. He's only three years old but his ability to actually hear the difference with each sound box was simply amazing.

Very sturdy built, wood is smooth and looks well made. Some sounds are similar. Great challenge for older kids. For young toddlers I’d say only three of them are VERY distinct and easy to tell apart. But that’s about right for a young child’s attention span anyways.

When this arrived, it looks as if it is sound cylinders for the toddler program. I don't like the little cut out int he middle. I didn't notice this in the picture before I ordered it.

Returning it, Very disappointed everything sounds the same.
