Review: Perfect for introducing weaning - The perfect book to help your child understand and navigate the weaning process. Also great for the mom as well who needs some emotional support. Best for toddlers (2+ years old). Review: Relatable storyline for my toddler - Really loved this book. My little one is 1 month shy of 3 years. I have been strongly trying to wean since last 2 months. All feeds have been weaned except the nap and sleep time. Tried every trick under the sun. She wouldn't let my husband or her grandparents to put her to sleep. Only wanted to feed would not have it any other way. No matter how hard I tried she would not budge. I was at my wits end without knowing a proper method to wean. Finally met with an LC on tips and she said the only way to wean now is to communicate and be empathetic as she is almost 3 years old. I later came across this book suggestion in a Facebook group for gentle weaning and it has helped immensely. She was a boob monster and after showing this book she completely related to the kid. She started understanding the concept and is now feeding < 30 seconds and if I distract her she easily gets disctracted.. OFcourse compensating feeding with lots and lots of cuddles kisses stories and lullabys. But it is working. After she starts yawning she just hugs me tightly and is sleeping (just like in the book). For first 3-4 days she showed some repulsion and she told these boobs are mine and there was some crying. But all of a sudden as if magic she started hugging me and sleeping (we co-sleep). Thank you.

Perfect for weaning
I weaned off my 14 months old baby by showing this book and making a story in our own language. It helped a lot. Within a week baby was completely weaned off. I would suggest this if your baby under what you are talking about. Great book for gentle weaning.

Nice book
This is a nice book to teach a toddler the idea that he/she must eventually stop nursing. My lo doesn’t really like the idea (2.7 years), but he’s still curious and willing to read the book. I think when the time comes, he’ll understand and it should make the process easier. (He is already night weaned thanks to a lovely little book called, Nursies When The Sun Shines.) Took away one star as the illustrations are not great (sometimes blurry or disproportionate) but lo doesn’t seem to notice. Also the text - while written to be rhyming- is not simple enough, so I have to change what I say to him.
