Many reviews here say the smell of that product is bad. I didn't notice that it was a bad smell. You definitely smell the citronella, but otherwise it is not bad. B

Don't waste your money! I bought this product as a preventative when I bought a new area rug. My dogs have ruined every other area rug I have had because they seem to feel the need to mark it. I sprayed this stuff on my new rug to try to avoid any messes on the rug by the dogs. First of all, the smell is horrible! It is mustard extract and is supposed to be "almost undetectable to humans" which is not true at all. The smell is very strong and unpleasant. Does fade some but at close range is still noticeable. Second of all, it just simply didn't work. I sprayed my new rug as soon as I put it down so that the dogs wouldn't want to mark it. By day 3 one of the dogs had urinated on it. Day 4, same dog pooped on it in almost the same spot even though I sprayed it again with this nasty smelling spray after the urine incident. Not worth the money or the hassle

might work for some dogs but apparently not the one we have an issue with. Spraying on or near floor essentially looks like someone marked there so there is that. Gave it two stars because it does seem to slow him down.

So far it has worked.
