will this fit around your neck? I kknow it says it but that's not always the case

The lanyards in this package are of two different sizes: 7" and 17". The 7" lanyards only fit wrists, but the 17" lanyards can go around you neck.

are these adjustable for use on the wrist?

There is no adjustment; however, I have large hands and the loop, which is 50cm, will slip over my hand and rest on my wrist. I suggest that you cut a string 50cm long and hold the two ends together to make a loop and see if it fits over your hand. The width of the material, which seems quite strong, has been my concern as it is only 4cm wide. I hope this information helps you decide.
