Brooks England B17 Carved, Iconic Cut-Out Leather Bike Saddle

I have several Brooks B17 saddles this is the first with a cut out. I found that the more upright position of my Tern HSD required a bit of extra relief and this so far has worked out great. I also tend to wear street pants and shorts on the cargo bike as opposed to cycling gear. The cut out works well to limit impact of seams in sensitive areas. Typical Brooks quality which is awesome my other saddles have many thousands of miles on them and have only gotten more comfortable. Saddles are very personal so your mileage may vary..

Comfortable! My Motobecane bicycle originally came with a Brooks, but in high school, I thought it need a light weight plastic Avocet seat. While that was cool and everything, over the next 45 years, the Avocet leather started cracking (weird right?). So I started learning more about the Brooks Saddle and its history and realized I made a grave error back in 1977, when I replace my brand new Brooks saddle, on my brand new Motobecane Grand Jubile! SO to right the errors of my ways, I decided to put the New and Improved Brooks B17 saddle with center cut out for improved "Man Hood", back on its prominent status, on top of the Motobecane Grand Jubile. Besides looks and history, it make my bike look cool again. I and 64 and still try to ride my bike every day. In a world of being passed by "E" bikes, this saddle lets you command the road and bike trail, as people slow down to pass you and say "What the Hell are you sitting on?" You can smile with confidence, knowing YOU ARE THE MASTER OF YOUR DESTINY, because you own a Brooks saddle!

I first bought a Team Pro Imperial (Honey Brown) a couple of months ago to replace another saddle I had been using on my Cannondale R1000 road bike. It felt great from the first time I rode using it. I treated it per the instructions before installing it on my bike. With some bar tape to match it has a great vintage look and is very comfortable. My second ride with it was a mountainous metric century and I finished it with absolutely no discomfort from the saddle! I have been rebuilding an old touring bike and needed a saddle for it. Since the Team Pro worked so well I decided to order another Brooks saddle. My only fault (sort of) with the Team Pro is that there are no eyelets nor other good way to tie a tool bag to the seat. So, I ordered a B17 Imperial in standard width and brown color. Dimensions are very similar to the Team Pro but the frame has eyelets for my toolbag. One of the first things that I noticed is that the leather on the B17 is noticeably thinner than the leather on the Team Pro. That makes the seat a bit more flexible and I guess it will be "broken in" a bit quicker than the other saddle. As with the first saddle, it was comfortable from the first time I sat on it. That makes the break in time a non-issue for me. I am very pleased with both of my Brooks saddles. They are a bit more comfortable for me than the "men's anatomic saddles" that I had been using previously. There have been no perineal issues for me which can make a huge difference in whether a saddle works for long hours on the bike or not. I would not hesitate to buy another one in the future.

My first Brooks and my first leather saddle since 82, a "Belt" on my first bike, a classic Fuji. I'm ecstatic, this thing is gorgeous and the build quality it's ridiculous. I'm so glad I purchased it..... Stay tuned for my riding experience....

🚴🏻‍♂️ Did 21.7 miles on a very chilly morning. Another gorgeous day with no wind. Third day on a brand new Brooks leather saddle. They’re made in jolly old England. Decided to try one with the cut out and it works. Zero perineum pain. Worth every cent Should have went with one of these years ago. If you ride and get discomfort in your perineum area, I highly recommend this type of saddle.

While this is normally a 5 star saddle (I have them on all my bikes), the one I received has some variations in the leather grain that I probably wouldn’t have chosen if I had the opportunity to pick my own. But given that it was a great price and not visible in use, I’ve learned to live with it. The B17s is always comfortable, will last forever, and is an excellent choice.

What can i say? Brooks is Brooks! Instant classic.

I've been bike riding for long enough now to know one undeniable truth: If you aren't comfortable on your saddle, you're going to find riding very unenjoyable. I've been through 4 saddles before purchasing this one. They were either comfortable and lacking in performance or uncomfortable and great in performance. I think this one covers both. I haven't even put 100 miles on it and I've already stopped needing to wearing padded shorts for shorter rides. My legs have plenty of clearance to not restrict leg motion. The cut-out in the middle is a definite must and does a great job separating this Brooks saddles from others. Their are a few cons that are worth noting. It's a tiny bit heavier than other saddles, but nothing thats going to affect the common rider in speed that you don't gain in comfort. Their is a titanium frame model available from the Brooks website, and possible amazon. This saddle is not meant to get wet, as per instructions and care. Finally, don't hesitate on purchasing the Brooks Proofide. It's not an option, it's a necessity.

Produit de très bonne qualité ! En achetant cette selle, j' ai eu un doute car sur l'une des deux photos de la selle couleur marron/brun, c'est le modèle B17 S pour femme qui est présenté. Rien de bien méchant vue que le modèle reçu est bien le modèle homme. En ce qui concerne le confort, je le trouve très bon même au début. Bon c'est vrai que c'est un chouia dur mais après seulement 140 bornes, il y a déjà deux bon renfoncement au niveau de mes ischions. Après il parait que j'ai '' les os du c** pointu " mais je sais pas vraiment si ça joue. Je mesure 1m75 pour environ 68 kilos. Le trou pour soulager le périné a l'air de parfaitement remplir sa fonction, plus de douleur a ce niveau. Je verrai bien sur le long terme. Comparait on mon ancien selle en gel D4 c'est un vrai fauteuil. Les trous pour enfiler les lacets sont très bien et pour ma part j'en ai attaché 2 ensemble pour pouvoir remonter jusqu'au dernier trous de l'assise ( pas du bec ) car je trouve le soutient meilleur a ce niveau. N'oublié pas enregistré vous sur le site de brooks pour voir la garantie s'étendre jusqu'a 10 ans. Tout est expliqué dans le petit livre envoyé avec le colis le tout écrit en français. Je recommande donc ce produit et merci a toi Marguerite de t'être sacrifié pour que l'humain puisse assoir son postérieur confortablement .... désolé ...
