Wald 3114 Compact Front Quick Release Bicycle Basket with Bolt on Clamp (11.75 x 8 x 9, Black)

This backet is really easy to attach to my bike and it's really simple to remove. It rattled just slightly when I ride with it but I have yet to load it down with stuff so I think once I actually fill the basket, it will be weighed down and any rattling will be gone. I would recommend this basket to anyone wanting a removable bike basket for an affordable price. I chose this because it doesn't look overly feminine and it fits a decent amount of stuff inside. I was looking for something I could put a backpack in while riding (just in case I didn't want to wear it) and possibly a water bottle and some snacks if I was taking my bike on a long ride.

The basket and the hardware are very sturdy and well constructed. The instructions are clear and easy to follow making installation a snap. The basket is of the medium category. The bottom is about the size of a six pack and it tapers out as it goes up. It has not come off during normal riding and it is detachable via the handle. It will not carry a small dog unless it is a chihuahua. It is good for carrying a few items to the park, beach or wherever.

Just received the basket today. First impressions is its solid. I'm not worried about it breaking or rusting/corroding like I've seen others mention in the reviews of cheaper products. The instructions are pretty intimidating, but honestly you can figure it out without them much easier than trying to understand them. Hope i put it together right haha. I like the small size, I only bought it to bring supplies along on my mother daughter rides like water, snacks, diaper ect..After the first ride my thoughts are this basket is very sturdy. It did not move around or rattle. The handle did not move around. The items inside the basket weren't rattling or shifting in the basket. I really like it and am very excited about my new basket.I would like to add that the mounting headwear is quite heavy. Adding to your load. Considering I have a child seat and 5 lb bike lock plus the 25lb child herself.. I'm getting pretty weighed down. This was an item my adult daughter requested for Christmas. She says the product is great, but arrived missing two bolts needed to mount the "bolt-on-clamp" to her bicycle, which required her to purchase them from a local hardware store. She states the product reviews she had read for this item on amazon's website included statements from more than one reviewer that their baskets had arrived without all the necessary and promised parts.So, a word to the product vendor - how hard can it be to make certain EVERY shipment contains all the parts? These aren't rocket components you're selling here!!!

This particular basket, the 3114 model, is different from most of the other Wald Baskets for several reasons: 1) it has a narrower mountingso that it can be placed on comfort rising handle bars; 2) the extended bracket bars create space between the basket and bike cable wires; 3) this basket has no legs to attached onto the front axle. Strength-wise, I suppose this basket can hold 10 or 15 lbs. This basket is also strongly mounted and does not move or rattle. The basket is detachable, so the only way to secure it from theft is to carry it along with you or to tie it down w/ cable ties, lock it etc. The only comparable model is the bigger Wald 3133. Excellent basket and excellent mounting for the comfort rising handle bars. Most other brackets are too wide for my handle bars.On the negative side, it would be nice if they gave the dimensions of the mounting parts/brackets. I previously had to return a Wald 135 becauseit would not fit on my handle bars.

I recently bought a Schwinn Hybrid bike from Target, and as I had a coupon for a Schwinn accessory, I bought their wicker basket. It was horrid. Obviously not made for bikes with brake wires, it probably wouldn't handle more than a drink from Starbucks, and I felt like the quick release plastic thing would break within a few days.I then began the search of Amazon reviews and found that this basket works well for hybrid bikes, AND is all metal. Perfect! I attached it immediately (though it took longer than expected to figure out exactly how it was supposed to go on...they really should make better directions). It definitely feels secure and the locking part with the handle is just brilliant. I'm totally comfortable putting my purse, food, whatever in this basket! I HIGHLY recommend it, especially for hybrid bikes!

THIS WALD BASKET IS GREAT, I HAVE A WHITE ONE AND GOT MY BROTHER THIS BLACK ONE !! IT STAYS ON STURDY ! I RIDE TO THE BEACH SO I HAVE A HEAVY BACKPACK THAT WEIGHS LIKE 30 LBS AND THEN THE BRACE THAT HOLDS THE BASKET DOES BEND SOME BUT IT NEVER BROKE AND I FIXED IT WITH A BRACE SO IT WON'T BEND ANYMORE AND THAT'S EASY... BUT OTHERWISE IT IS GREAT !! THE OTHER WALD BASKET (similar) WITH A DIFFERENT BRACE AND DOESN'T SCREW ON TIGHT TO THE HANDLE BARS CAN BE STOLEN MORE EASILY THAN THIS MODEL CAUSE YOU CAN LIFT THEM BOTH OFF...THIS ONE YOU CAN ONLY STEAL THE BASKET IF THEY GET DESPERATE ENOUGH. I LOVE IT AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT AGAIN AND AGAIN,, I HAVE HAD MY WHITE ONE FOR 2 YEARS NOW !!

I ride my bike fairly long distances (+- 50 miles) and wanted a more versatile alternative to the standard handlebar bag. I am not in the least bit disappointed with this basket. The powder coated finish is beautiful, the mounting system is sturdy and the basket attachment system is clever. Best of all, it does not rattle, squeak or moan. I can carry a soft sided cooler on one day, a stack of books the next. I can clip, bungee, duct tape, cotter pin or lash any reasonably sized object to the sides or front. I can stack it to overflowing and hold everything down with a little bungee net. Maybe I could even rescue a lost puppy and spirit him to safety? Endless possibilities. Six stars.
