Kids Fishing Net - Telescoping Bait, Minnow, and Butterfly Net With 11.4" Depth, Handle Extends to 30" for Easy Catch and Release

We got this net for my 5 year old, who is obsessed with catching anything right now. Fish, bugs, butterflies, squirrels, you name it. He's been asking for a new net for this spring because he wore out the old one. The only ones we could find in the store we're plastic or really cheap feeling. They did not feel like they would be sturdy or strong enough to catch anything other than a butterfly. When we saw this net it was exactly what he wanted. I was very impressed when it came with the quality and durability. It is lightweight yet feels strong enough to catch a large fish, and sturdy enough to hold up to a 5 year old boy with endless energy, Who wants to catch anything he sees. I love this net and so does my son! He was overjoyed when he opened he package and takes it with him everywhere. He just holds it and always has it with him ready to catch stuff. We took it camping last weekend and it doesn't even have a scratch on it. Also, it extends to twice the length so it will grow with him, or suit a different need. Can't say enough about it. We love it.

I got this net for my daughter at the beach. It was to be used with sand crabs, ghost crabs, blue crabs and small fish/ minos. It was the best net. All the other kids and even adults wanted to use her net since it was so much sturdier. 3/5 nets broke that week, but this was one that did not break! And it was certainly used the most. The only slight problem was that the net is very deep. The crabs were hard to get back out of the net to release (only catching them for fun, then we release them). But depending on what your are using this for that might be better! Even when the kids would scoop up a ton alof sand while trying to get a crab that sits in the sand where the waves wash up, it still didn’t bend or brake. She will still be able to use it next year. The cheaper ones are only good one summer!

It is a great sturdy net. For what I purchased it for though, it did not work well. I bought it for catching minnows and the holes in the net are too large. The minnows swim through. Just to keep in mind when purchasing!

We ordered three of these so each of our children could have one and they held up great. The handle on one of them will not fully lock but that is not a huge deal as it stays in place when collapsed. Overall, the construction is good and what I expected based on the other reviews. I was able to get in the sand and scoop/filter out stuff while diving for shells. If you push too hard, it will bend the basket part but since it is aluminum, it can easily be bent back. My kids loved these and we are glad we didn't have to toss them after one trip.

The net is fine for netting small (but not tiny) fish and other creatures in a stream (skippers, crawdads). Sturdy enough. Good size for a kid. The main problem is the telescoping function doesn't work. It's as if the part of the handle that's supposed to telescope were installed off-center. You can get the telescoping to work with a couple of pliers, but that doesn't make the net very handy in the out of doors.

Best fishing net we have gotten. Lasted all summer! Tiny minnows can swim through but larger do get caught! I actually came back and ordered more for the rest of the family!

The materials are good quality. The telescopic mechanism broke on both nets i bought.

We need to beef up our nets in order to go after some larger prey and these nets proved to be lethal! My little ladies feel like the Croc Hunter tracking down and capturing Amphibians, Reptiles, Crustaceans, or whatever else dares to cross their paths, with these inescapable and sturdy nets. The telescopic handle, flat netting, and solid construction make these nets a true hiking must for kids!

My daughter loves this net. It's colourful, adjustable and strong. I gave it 4 stars because the net screws on to the rod and can easily come unscrewed as it doesn't lock into place.
