Silhouette America 8 Silhouette Portrait Cutting Mat, Medium, Blue

Worked Perfectly with my portrait 2. My old mat was getting dust, dirt, and hair on it, as well as being cracked and etched due to me figuring out my portrait. I was worried the size would be off, but it's identical to the original.

I like the Silhouette mats, they are kind of thin and not as thick as the cricut ones. The are really sticky so I try to get them a little less sticky. And for goodness sakes, I keep putting them in backwards and its cutting my mat instead of my design. I am blonde like that but I like them they work. Even when they are falling apart because I cut the wrong side.

I bought this because I lost my regular portrait mat (I have no idea how). I was VERY skeptical that this would be any different than the regular one, but in actuality it worked great! My first use with it was for stickers and the back got stuck on one spot only and I was able to carefully remove it without completely ruining my project. With the original mat, the back of the sticker paper would always get stuck and I would have a gigantic mess. This was a very good alternative to it. The price on Silhouette America's website for this is $12.99 currently. I got it on here for about $6.50 which is a great price. These are not sold at my local craft store so my only options are to buy on Amazon (or other online retailers) or to make one myself. Personally, this was a good price in my opinion and it really worked well for the majority of my projects.

I purchased this cutting mat because when I read the reviews for the Silhouette Portrait (which I purchased at the same time), a lot of reviewers stated that they cut up their first mat. I thought I would purchase this mat in case mine was cut while learning and it is always good to have a second mat. The mat seems to be of good quality as advertised and I will buy again.

Had an older mat that worked well and released paper easily. Now it seems too strong making it somewhat problematic to use—miss my old mat.

I hated the mat that came with my cricut machine. It was way too sticky and was ripping my cut stickers, so I tried out this one. What a world of difference!!! So much better for using to cut out my stickers on. Definitely recommending this mat for sure!

Finally a light hold cutting mat so we can cut paper and not have it stick to the mat and rip apart. This is the perfect amount of stickiness. It did lose it stickiness and become not quite sticky enough after a few dozen uses but I gave it light spray with a fabric adhesive from the fabric store and it was "just right" again. The alternate solution was to take the regular adhesive cutting mat and rub a bath towel on it until it had so much lint that it was a "light hold' mat and wouldn't rip your paper.

Ceci s'est passé un 20 décembre, soit 5 jours avant Noël! Je suis admirative de cette façon de faire et j'espère que cela continuera car cela fait la différence entre une machine et des humains qui réfléchissent. Bravo. Je recommanderai volontiers chez eux.

Hallo zusammen, ich habe diese Matte für meinen Silhouette Portrait Schneideplotter gekauft, da die erste, die ich hatte bereits ganz schön gelitten hat. Dieses mal wollte ich auch unbedingt eine Schneidematte, die weniger stark klebt. Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Produkt. Der Versand aus den USA war recht schnell, alles kam gut verpackt und heil bei mir an. Die Matte passt (logischerweise) perfekt und hat eine deutlich geringere Klebekraft als meine vorherige (ebenfalls originale) Schneidematte. Ich kann den Artikel empfehlen.

Works well. These mats can be a little too tacky in the beginning. But rub a clean pillow case over to help reduce a bit of the tack.

This is exactly like the mat originally with the machine. It is incredibly sticky so if you’re using paper or card make sure you “destick” the mat first by patting it with a towel or t-shirt. There is a less sticky mat available but I’ve never tried it. This mat is great quality, my original one lasted over a year with frequent use and I use the blue sheet to keep it covered when not in use. I’ve not tried any other brands of mats so can’t compare them, but unless I need to replace more frequently I’ll stick to the Silhouette ones
