MINKA-AIRE F868L-BN Sleek 60" 3-Blade LED Ceiling Fan in Brushed Nickel Finish with Seasoned Wood Blades and an Etched Lens

I decided on a more modern-looking 60" 3-blade fan to replace my old 54" 4-blade in my bedroom. Appearance-wise, this fan looks great. As far as air movement, it is so much better than my old one. Easy to install, and it works well with Alexa, the app, and the remote. Dimmable light is also nice - bright at night, soft when all you want is just a little. It runs quietly up to the 3rd speed, but anything above that you can hear the whirring of the moving air. No mechanical noise, however. Minor point: I did end up with one "dummy" wall switch (my old fan had separate switches for the fan and light); this fan requires only one. It doesn't bother me enough to go to the trouble of downsizing the two-switch box and repairing the drywall, though.

Installation was relatively easy, the instructions and the labeling on the wires and the connections were easy to follow and the whole installation took under 2 hours, including the time to disassamble and remove the old ceiling fan. The new fan looks great, the light is fairly bright and has a reasonable light temperature - not too cold, but not too soft either. The remote is already programmed and you won't need to reprogram it unless you have another Minka ceiling fan in your home that you want to control separately. Compared to my previous ceiling fan, this one needs to spin faster to deliver the same airflow, since it has 3 blades, compared to 5, and the blade angle is smaller. This is not an issue as this fan spins very fast when you use the highest setting (6), but it is a bit noisier, though it doesn't bother me much. All in all, this is a great looking fan and the materials and build are high quality. The blades are made of what seems like plastic, but it immitates wood pretty good, and reduces the weight and is more efficient, plus the blades will be much less prone to warping over time. The housing around the light is metal and the base is sturdy and leaves enough room to hide the wiring.

The fan was easy to install, it's well built and like my other Minka fan.. super quiet! Don't be fooled, the blades are large so it can move a lot air in a small or medium size room. Possibly the best feature in the integrated smart controls. It works great with Alexa. In fact, we set up a routine on the Alexa in the room where it will automatically turn it on and off based on the measured temperature in the room. We don't use the remote since all controls (speed, brightness) are accessible through smart controls.

The fan looks quite nice. It works well. The light turns on by itself now and then, but I can live with that. It works well on speeds 1-3, and 5-6. Yet on speed 4 it makes quite a loud noise. When you go from 3 to 5, or 5 to 3, same noise. I let it run over 24 hours--still hums on 4. I rechecked all of the wires--still hums on 4. I like the fan. It took a while to hang on my 14 foot ceiling, but that is my problem. Here is the question: should a fan this expensive make a constant and very loud hum (almost a grinding sound) on speed 4, or when "passing through" speed 4, from 3 to 5 or 5 to 3, etc.? I say no--it's going back.

It may have been me, but this has been the most difficult fan install I have ever done. The control box did not want to fit causing a major headache. There are also a lot of wires to connect with connectors. The remote seems reliable but I am not a huge fan of the extra light button for a light that my fan does not have. The reverse direction button is located prominently in the bottom middle of the speed controls which may be hit accidentally. Now on to the good, the noise levels are superb and the airflow is impressive. The smart controls are well thought out. I appreciate that in the app, the fan can choose to remember the last used light and speed setting when turning on and off via the switch, or default to a certain setting if desired. The color of the light is warm and not changeable, which I prefer.

The fan is perfect, sleek, modern and beautifully constructed, went up easily and works great. Light source also perfect, ended up getting 2 others for our home gym

Ordered this on a Friday with an expected delivery on Monday. It arrived on Sunday! Installation was straight forward and well documented in the instructions. Very impressed with how quiet this fan is. Even at the highest speed all you can hear is the sound of the air movement. The light is great. Installed with a 5ft. down rod and there's absolutely no wobble or movement of the fan at any speed. Weights are included to rebalance, but I found no need to use them. Very satisfied with the product and this seller. I highly recommend if your looking for a sleek appearing and very quiet fan in your living space.

This fan is great! I love that it has 6 speeds vs. the usual 3-4. It's great in my bedroom on the low speeds while sleeping-Keeps the air moving without blasting air on you. It is also VERY quiet (especially at low speeds). On higher speeds all you hear is the rush of air. The fan I replaced had a pronounced electrical buzz-Very annoying. The remote it comes with works great and fully controls all functions of the fan and light. As an added bonus this fan is compatible with smart home controllers. I use Alexa and this fan works very well with voice control. It uses Bond technology which costs $100 to add to a "dumb" fan. Alexa can turn the fan on, off, select speed and direction-Great in the middle of the night if you want the to adjust the fan. Alexa also can turn the light on, off and adjust brightness. I've had the fan installed for over a month and it works flawlessly. I'm not the most handy guy, but I installed it myself. Installation was fairly straight forward with no surprises. I also bought the wall switch which offers full control of all functions direct from the wall switch. It's a nice to have, but honestly with the full function remote it isn't really required-a simple on off switch will do if you don't mind using the included remote. If you utilize the built in voice control via Alexa or a compatible smart home assistant, the wall control is even less necessary. I find myself using the voice control over 90% of the time because it works so well. There are cheaper fans for sure, but this one is worth the money and has all the features. Once you have 6 speeds you will wonder why every fan doesn't offer this feature. I recently bought a second one of these for my home office. Definitely recommended!
