The Dukes of Hazzard: The Complete Series DVD Box Set Season 1-7

My family moved from Hawaii to Georgia in 1979 (me being the youngest child), as the Dukes of Hazzard launched itself into its immense popularity at the time, becoming an iconic hit in the early 80s. We'd watched the show every week for its first few seasons. I think our family interest finally fizzled out when Bo & Luke were suddenly replaced by cousins Coy & Vance Duke in Season 5. I mean, I certainly don't recall any of the oddball experimental episodes from Season 7, haha (aliens??). Anyway, fast forward 40 years, Mom has been gone for 8 years now, and I'm looking after my elderly Dad, who is an ornery 91 going on 92 in August. I struggle to find shows that we can both enjoy, and more importantly, have him stay awake through. When I saw the Dukes of Hazzard Complete Series on DVD over Christmas, I took the chance that it would transport us back to a time we both enjoyed as a family together. I'm happy to say that it went far beyond my expectations. He and I have had SO MUCH fun watching these episodes every night over the course of a couple months. Sure, the show's basic plots became rather repetitive (until that infamous Season 7, lulz). But we laughed endlessly (especially at Roscoe and Boss Hogg's interactions) and had a wonderful time reliving this show and its innocence of a bygone era. Sure, there were some awkward cringy moments through our modern sensibilities (e.g. the Dukes had to repaint the General Lee, and Daisy was all "I want to paint the flag! I LOVE that flag!"). Those moments flew over Dad's head, and certainly weren't enough to dampen my enjoyment and enthusiasm for the show. If anything, they were an interesting picture captured from that period in time. One negative note: The two reunion movies after the series ended are not included in this set for some reason. Sadly, Sorrell Booke (Boss Hogg) had passed away by the time of the first movie, with Denver Pyle (Uncle Jesse) clearly in bad health in that first movie and would pass away soon thereafter. I highly recommend the first reunion movie, as it was surprisingly fun! The second movie (Dukes in Hollywood) was a travesty and should never have been made, yuck. Not sure what they were thinking with that piece of doo doo. The extras at the end of each season were both fun and somewhat sad, seeing the aged actors reflecting back on the series, several of whom had passed away these years later. My heart ached with the loss of James Best (Sherriff Roscoe P. Coltrane). All in all, what an immense joy this series was to watch again with Dad from start to finish, even Season 7. Good wholesome entertainment that can be watched with the entire family, and I say that with no alternate intent (I'm liberal, and cursing / sex does not bother me, except in front of Dad, haha). We've already settled on the idea of watching the show again after a few months. Looking forward to the repeat viewing! HIGHLY recommended! EDIT: Some reviewers complained of the lack of quality/working of the DVD discs, but luckily we had no problem with any of the discs at all. All worked and were of high quality as far as we could tell. Enjoy!

Good quality love it

Purchased this as a family Christmas gift. What a blast! These shows are funny and wholesome. And don't forget the General Lee and all the great stunts and chases that make the show so fun to watch. I can't think of a current TV show that blends all of those aspects. Can't wait to make it through all seven seasons (even the one with the replacement Dukes, haha).

So far this had exceeded my expectations! Taking me back to my childhood memories, hanging out with my brother which never happened realistically before getting the Dukes of Hazzard box set!

Great show. Works as it should

I'm looking forward to rewatching a piece of my childhood. My box set around Christmas 2025 were all separate season DVDs in individual cases like the sales page shows.

I would have given it 5 stars but 2 of the disc skipped on 2 episodes
