Does the powder form have the same efficacy as the products that are oil based?

The mussel oil contains lipids which are primarily used because of their anti-inflammatory properties for the joints.However, the rest of the mussel powder that is not utilized when producing the oil - between 90 and 92% of the raw material - contains a plethora of other health benefits. Does it smell like seafood. Does it taste like mussels or seafood ?

Yes. There is a strong "dead fish" smell of the capsules. You can smell them when in the bottle, when you pour them out in your hand, and also when you pop them in your mouth strong bad fishy smell. I tried laying the 4 recommended capsules out on the kitchen counter for a few minutes before taking, in hopes that some of the smell would air off of them before I had to put them in my mouth, but it didn't help. I also try to hold my breath when taking them, but that does not work either, still get that terrible smell up through your mouth. I have been taking them for two weeks, and have had no improvement in hip joint pain.

This is not an oil, so cold pressed does not apply, but it is like the same process.

What is the country of origin for the gelatin? is the gelatin certified bse free?

A good product

Haven't taken this long enough so it's hard to tell. Although I have noticed I can go downstairs with less pain than before taking this. Still having a little trouble going upstairs & getting out of chairs. Have high hopes.

I had been taking a prescription anti inflammatory for a couple of months and knew I would have to get off it soon and if affects my liver. I have arthritis in my hands, feet, back, neck and left hip. I also have pain in my left knee and shoulder, tendon tears. I had tried Turmeric, CBD oil and hemp extract but none of them worked well. Then I came across a dog anti-inflammatory add on FB that had green lipped mussel in it so I thought why not for humans so I started researching. Anyway I received the Xtend-Life on a Monday, took 2 that evening and then 2 each in the morning and evening for the next couple of days. After 3 days I didn't take the prescription anti-inflammatory and although I'm not 100% pain free I'm 95 % pain free. It's has completely relieved the arthritis pain and the pain from the tendon tears is not nearly as bad, at least it doesn't wake me up at night. I researched several of the top brands listed on Amazon and thought the Xtend-Life was the best product for the price. The shipping is timely as I have shipped and received pkgs from my brother who lives in New Zealand and it can take weeks and my product order only took 4 days. I am totally sold on this product.

Doesn't work

I have been using green lipped mussels for years now. After not being able to get my usual brand any longer I thought I would try this one. My joints are starting to hurt again! I will never buy again. And very fishy tasting.

Works well

After using Green Lipped Mussel powder for my dogs and it working so well, my husband tried this product. It helps his mobility and provides pain relief immensely. It is a good size capsule that is easy to swallow and doesn't taste or smell bad.
