T'Ai Chi Daily Practice

Another excellent Tai Chi instructional DVD from Gaiam and David Dorian Ross. There are 2 lessons on this DVD - a full Tai Chi form from start to finish and an earlier video he made of lower body Tai Chi. To be honest, my wife and I love the lower body work-out better. We use it frequently along with other Tai Chi DVDs. The first/main video is nice but because we have been doing Tai Chi for awhile it feels slow and boring at times. To be fair, he does a very good job of going step-by-step and explaining the movements. But for someone who is just getting started with Tai Chi, it is probably excellent, and the movements are very familiar if you have used any of David Dorian Ross's other Tai Chi videos. I highly recommend this DVD for beginners and advanced beginners of Tai Chi.

I really enjoyed Tai Chi For Daily Practice...enough that I purchased it after renting. It teaches a sequence of movements that I had been looking for. Very graceful, peaceful, and just long enough to feel complete. Even though it is a beautiful Tai Chi routine, it is a little hard to learn as David and Daisy teach it from a reversed angle. So you have to watch, but do the opposite. But it was enjoyable enough to pause, rewind, pause, rewind, learn. It would have been awesome to film at an angle that you could just follow along not having to transpose. Matthew Cohen's Tai Chi DVD's are fantastic and a different style..easier to follow. Both are very enjoyable and I am happy to have purchased them.

Nothing is more calming and energizing (an odd mix, eh?) than the practice of Tai Chi. Nothing is more frustrating than an instruction DVD of Tai Chi that isn't clear, causing one to end up on the floor groaning. It's been years since I've practiced Tai Chi with an instructor, and it's been impossible to find any good DVDs on the practice. Amazon to the rescue with David Dorian-Ross. He goes through each movement in depth and with clarity, incorporates the concept of energy flow, and makes the complex seem easy, as well as helping the viewer understand the complexities inside what seems so simple. This was exactly what I needed to awaken muscle memory and take my practice outside under the trees. Highly recommended for those just beginning and those experienced but needing a reminder.

Packing was ok, I was unable to actually watch the dvd as it has a large crack on the back so my DVD player can’t even load it. I’m sure the dvd was great and sorry it is broken.I didn’t return as it seemed too much hassle.

IN THIS DVD, HE ALONG WITH DAISY LEE-GARRIPOLI SHOW VERY LUCIDLY HOW TO LEARN A RUDIMENTARY ROUTINE OF TAI CHI.IN A SEPARATE SEGMENT ON THE DVD HE VERY ABLY SHOWS TAI CHI FOOTWORK OF THE TAI CHI ROUTINE WHICH CAN BE PRACTICED SEPARATELY. YOU CAN USE THIS INSTRUCTION OVER AND OVER AGAIN UNTIL YOU THINK "WOW, BY GOLLY I'M DOING TAI CHI, AND PRETTY DARN WELL TOO!"YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG WITH THIS DAVID DORIAN DVD . I HAVE SEVERAL OF HIS, AND EACH ONE HAS BEEN VERY HELPFUL.

Mr. Ross teaches in the most cumbersome way. I've been working out all my life. From ballet to weight, distance, Zumba, and yoga. I thought is give this a whirl before I purchased it. Glad I did. I found other tai chi exercises that make the practice easier to follow and provides more fluidity of movement. Sorry, Mr. Ross. Didn't mean to rain on your parade, but tai chi is fabulous and I don't want someone to get turned off by this production.

Great flow, instruction, and energy. I loved the bonus lower body workout.

I am presently taking a class in college, this DVD is reinforcing the movements I am learning as a group. It is easy to follow. I like the fact that David uses a Teacher of Tai Chi as his student. this makes it much easier to see the movements. Also, breaking down the movements in small increments, is perfect for me and at the end he and his student do the entire routine. I highly recommend this DVD be purchased at Amazon. it can be purchased and downloaded to your computer/TV or sent as a book or DVD, your choice.
