Nutri-Cal Malt-Flavored High-Calorie Nutritional Gel for Dogs, 4.25oz

I have a 5lb male chihuahua that recently had surgery and lost some weight. I’ve added this product to his food to help him gain weight and he seems to really like it. It has a very pleasant smell, the ingredients don’t look bad, his energy level has returned to normal and he seems to be on the mend. His stool remained normal as well. This is on my list to continue to buy until he maintains his weight for awhile.

Must have for small dog, puppy, elderly dog owners. Little dogs can go hypoglycemic pretty easily and should eat more frequently throughout the day. This is great to add a few more calories, but it is by no means a meal replacement. It’s great for puppies who burn more calories and it’s hard to get weight on them. It’s great for teacup and toy size dogs that can lose weight really easily and it’s important to keep them a little bit over. What’s a good weight so that they have wiggle room if they get sick because when they lose weight, they lose weight very quickly Syringing stage one baby food like sweet potato and pumpkin is also very helpful in those instances. This is great for elderly dogs that maybe don’t have as much of an appetite and you don’t wanna keep giving them entyce this can help get calories in their system and keep their blood sugar level from dropping. It’s great to have on you for road trips with your dog. It’s like a honey consistency. It’s very thick and gooey and messy so I always have a damp paper towel to wipe Bella‘s mouth after I give it to her and I give her little bitty tiny doses at a time by putting it on my finger or putting my finger in our mouth And making sure she licks it all versus it, falling to the sides, all sometimes hold her and tilt her a little bit so that gravity helps guide it. Some dogs might just look at off your finger or a plate. But if they’re feeling ill, you can just rub it on their gums or on their tongue or the side of their cheek just to get it in their system.

This is some good stuff! My dog didn't like me until I started giving him this... Jk. His coat is a lot shinier, he doesn't shed much anymore. He has more energy and his health has improved overall. My little guy is roughly 10yrs old so we have been able to see a difference.

I originally bought this when my puppy was sick and not eating. It really helped him and after he got better every day at the same time he would come up and want his yum yum. I started giving it to my older dog and he now expects it daily. They really enjoy the taste of it. With two dogs eating it, it does not last as long as I would like, but I am not complaining about that because I feel like it is beneficial for them. I can feel the difference in both of their coats in both the feel and look. This for us is a never run out of item for our little boys!

I have a dog nearing end stage cancer who is not really eating much right now I bought this to encourage him to eat some and give him some extra calories and he really likes it. I was worried because he is super picky and the only thing he wants to eat right now is chicken. I am actually ordering some more right now because I don't want to run out. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has a pet in need. I had also used the feline version about 10 years ago when I had a cat in a similar situation.

So our 16 year old toy poodle had a emergency scare that landed him in the ER. He was having trouble breathing and his heart was racing (he had been previously dx with a heart murmur and kidney disease and was being overseen by a cardiologist along with his primary vet). He was dx with heart failure, pulmonary hypertension and top it off he was suffering from an a bout of pneumonia that wasn't seen in his xrays and blood work. Now he's on lasix, sildenafil and vetmedin, calcium supplement to help replace the electrolytes he was losing with the lasix and an occasionally an appetite supplement - which I try not give him unless we're both desperate. We are currently managing his symptoms but I wanted to help with the muscle wasting, loss of appetite and weight loss by supplementing with extra calories so I've been giving sweet potato through a syringe and wanted to try something more. I decided to give this product a try and I was shocked with how thick it was - it's essentially as thick as honey. So both my fiance and I gave it to him, he didn't love it but he also didn't hate it. However, later that night he had really bad diarrhea which I thought it could be due to this or to the fish oil I put in his food. So I decided to do process of elimination and stopped the fish oil and solely gave him this. I did what another reviewer did - I mixed it with a little water and pureed sweet potato and crossed my fingers that he wouldn't throw it up. I started with 10ml syringe with the mix and success no vomiting so far. And dare I say, it might be doing the job. He's more alert. He typically only wants to eat once a day; hence, the syringe feeding but tonight, I was cleaning, he came up and sat next to me. Then I noticed he was starting to sniff around his bowl. So I thought "MAYBE! He's hungry again." Sure enough, he ate again. I know this may be miniscule but for us, that's a win. We celebrate the little wins now. So take this with a grain of salt, but I want to say this product is helping him get the extra calories he needs which in turn is helping with his energy level and appetite.

We use this after worming our puppies as a treat & also a calorie boost. The puppies love the taste. We give it to them with a baby spoon.

Habe die Tube eben bekommen. Mir hat überhaupt nicht gefallen,dass sie für den teuren Preis nicht gut gefüllt war. Würde sagen 2/3 nur voll. Mein Hund wiegt 23kg.braucht dann also ca. 7 Teelöffel. Mit der Tube komme ich sicherlich wenn überhaupt nur ne Woche aus.

Spike is a very fussy eater and yet he survives on a very minimal amount of food daily. This Nutri cal works well with him, giving him more energy and he started to enjoy food more.
