I dont love everything about Time Pilot hardware or software but for the price and what feature you get it is great. Had many issues with the clock and static addresses. I have found that it needs to be on DHCP and the computer it is going to static to work with no issues. That shouldnt be the case as static should connect no problem but that is my experience with this clock. Simple in/out clock management with ability to edit hours and export to various payroll platforms. Scalable and has many feature we do not use along with many we do.

I ordered this time clock to replace an old similar clock that had been discountiued by another manufacturer. We had our old clock for nearly 10 years with no issues until it just stopped working one day after a overnight thunderstorm (which also fried our wifi router). This clock, on the other hand, has had several issues from day one! As noted in other reviews this clock is difficult to set up and sync with the provided software; however, I was able to get someone from tech support on the phone to help walk me through it. It took a little bit of time to figure out to set the employee fobs up and get them to stay programmed as well. It was working well for a few months, but now it will not sync with the computer software. So, I cannot see in real-time which employees are clocked in or out. Also, whenever I go to process the payroll I now have to insert a thumbdrive into the time clock to pull out all of the employees' logs. I specifically purchased this time clock because it had the capability of being hooked into our router and wirelessly tranfering this data using the company's TimePilot Central program. So, it is VERY frustrating that this feature is no longer working. I have tried calling tech support multiple times to assist with this issue. Other than the first time I contacted them to initially set everything up, they have never answered the phone. You can leave a message, but they do not return your phone calls. I have tried updating the TimePilot software to no avail, and have deleted and reinstalled the time clock and the software several times. The first couple of times deleting and reinstalling the clock fixed the issue for a few days, but now I can't get the clock to wireless sync with the software no mater what I do. In addition, the time clock allows employees to double punch. Meaning that they can clock in or out two times in a row. Our old time clock would notify the employee if they were trying to clock in twice in row, but this one does not. So, the employees have no idea that they have made a mistake while clocking in or out. Since the employees often times aren't paying attention, it means that have I have to spend quite a bit of time each pay period changing clock in times to clock out times or vice versa, depending on the error. To be fair, the TimePilot program does make this relatively easy, but it is still irritating that the sytem allows double punches at all. I have also added color coded labels to our clock (as the IN and OUT labels printed on the clock can be difficult to see), this has helped with in and out mistakes, but it still happens pretty frequently. This time clock seems like a good buy, especially considering that you do not have purchase any software separately (which was a big reason that I bought it in the first place). However, after a few months of using this time clock, it doesn't do anything more than a standard old analog time clock that employees use to punch in and out with physical time cards; but, it is WAY more frustrating for whoever is processing the payroll to use. I would absolutely not buy this time clock again and would not recommend it to anyone.

This product is a hardware and software combination. The hardware is very nicely designed and the iButton technology is well integrated into the system. The software provided by Timepilot included in the box is out-dated and after installation requires an immediate download of approximately 80MB to bring up-to-date. Other than the software updates, there were a couple of setup issues. I put the Vetro on the network (DHCP) but the software would constantly loose connection to the Vetro. Once a static IP was configured, the communications seemed to be more stable. Configuration of the timeclock and assignment of the iButtons was simple. I called TimePilot technical support and I got a very knowledgeable, well-spoken fellow on the line and he was very helpful. I only pulled transactions once from the Vetro to the TimePilot software, but I there was some kind of error and a couple of transactions were lost. If this happens again next week, my rating for this product will go down significantly. It also supports using USB transfers (put in a USB key, get the transactions and load them into the software). The one BIG thing I don't like about the Vetro is that it is a network device, it is used to record time, but it doesn't support NTP!! Also, the product includes a 32MB (!) USB Key. I don't know where they found a 32MB flash drive, but if they had included a 1GB or 2GB one, they could have included the installation software on it (to support PCs that don't have optical storage). Overall, I'm happy with this purchase but I have to see how it behaves over time.

Horrible quality. I own a small business that has 20 employees. I bought first one and it stopped working. I then called customer support who told me it just expired from warrantee. I decided to buy another one after I got them to agree to 3 year warrantee. Well, sure enough second one broke. I called and once again was told it just went out of warrantee (interesting how they break right after about a year of use), and once again, no warrantee. What I was told and what is reality were two different things. This thing works great when it works, but it is definitely terrible quality...not worth the money...I'm going a different direction.

Good solution for small shop. Very easy to setup and manage. Produce reports in various formats. *** Rating 4.5 Stars. Deducting 1/2 Stars cause you need to buy battery pack to prevent data loss. USB drive is super tiny size.

I bought this about 18 mo ago, and thought that it would be great for our small business (6 employees). It was fairly easy to set up, took a little bit to get used to the software, but was fine for a while. However, the digital buttons have stopped working, and it's past the warranty, so now I have to buy a new time clock. Also, had difficulty uploading the time data into QuickBooks from the beginning. There were a few employees that never loaded correctly, so I always entered time manually.

We updated from a TimePilot clock that we used for almost 8 years, this was very easy to setup and transition from the old clock. We got to use the same ibuttons as before too,
