These lentils are really nice. They require minimal fencing and there are no stones or dirt or bugs in them. So these are pre-washed. After 15 minutes in a pressure cooker they come out super nice and tender and they're very delicious.

No significant flavour change from other lentils. Nice change.

Couldn't find these in my little town but it's so much more convenient to get them delivered anyway. I didn't really need 2 lbs but it's not something that will go bad sitting in my pantry a long time. I cook up a batch (super easy), add a little olive oil and freeze them in ice cube trays. I pop one out to go on a green salad or add to anything else that I want the color, extra fiber and protein. They are tiny lentils and make an elegant garnish that looks a bit like caviar.

These lentils have a very unique flavor. They almost have a nutty undertone to them. They are smaller than the lentils I'm used to and are celiac friendly, so if you have an allergy to wheat/gluten like I do, these are right up your alley. The ONLY reason I did not rate 5 stars is because there were no directions on the label. Of course, you can just google how to cook lentils, especially if it's your first time making them, but it's convenient to have the directions printed on the label for obvious reasons. This is my first time buying black beluga lentils. I have tried the red and green lentils and they all have different cook times. These probably took about 15 minutes to simmer before they were done to my liking. After about 10 minutes, I just continued to check them until I felt they were soft enough for me. Great value for he amount you get and so easy to make!

Rare to find lovely mini black beluga lentils that retain their shape after cooking, but have soft centers. Great vegetarian protein source to mix with rices, salads, sauces,soups, what have you. Nice texture for eating. Hard to find in stores. Great product, easy to cook.
