A Non-Millionaire's Review of Jeff Walker's 'Launch'
I'm not a Internet millionaire. I'm an average digital business owner who enjoys minimal to moderate success so I have nothing to gain from this review of Jeff Walker's book, Launch. Jeff isn't going to ask me to do a JV launch with him anytime soon. It's not that the other reviews on this page are false or misleading, but some of these folks are so mega-successful that the average consumer might not connect with all of them.So here is my review; penned with the hope that you'll read it all the way through.A bit of history... Although I've run various iterations of my digital business at BarryMorris.net for about a decade, and despite spending thousands in that time on training programs and courses, nothing really brought it together for me. I don't blame anyone for not having achieved the success I envisioned. All the training programs were well-conceived and well-executed and I never for a second entertained the thought of a refund on any of them. My results are my results. I own them. When Launch came into my awareness, I figured, OK...after all, I've been around this block before more than a few times. I've written books, taught online courses, and run coaching programs and yet still hadn't 'broken through' at the level I wanted. So... there was Launch by Jeff Walker, not a name unknown to me because several of my online influencers have praised Jeff's work before. And being ever optimistic and always open to learning new things, I bought a copy for my Kindle. Here's where you probably expect me to start gushing praise, right? Not so fast. I'm made of tougher stuff. I'm not swimming in these waters for the first time. So...I started reading...slowly.What struck me right way about Launch was the honest voice that accompanied the text. I could hear Jeff speaking to me like there was an audio file running in my earbuds. It was kind of like I was sitting across the table at his place in Durango and he was simply sharing this information with me. I liked what I was hearing. His voice was genuine and in the same tone in which I write to my followers. But...still...I needed some additional time to get used to this seemingly straightforward manner.Jeff started his story my saying the he was once a stay-at-home dad trying to make something work. That he felt like a square peg in a round hole in the land of corporate cubicles. That's not something most successful men writing a business book lead with, considering his overt success over the years.I stop reading my Kindle and looked up. It was like a literary Jerry Maguire moment. It connected with me because I'd raised my youngest son alone for over a decade and I knew the struggles Jeff wrote about, but without the supportive spouse. I, too, felt completely out of place in the corporate world. Hmmm... So I read on...and on...and the deeper I got into this book, the more I saw what those other well-intentioned teachers tried to teach me years earlier. I read faster and faster and had to slow myself down to not miss anything. (I can get a bit excited at times.)Launch isn't the kind of book that you read and never pick up again. It's the kind of book that -if you buy the physical book- you'd keep open on your desk next to your Macbook. It's the kind of book that -if you buy it for your Kindle- you highlight light crazy and bookmark a lot. I haven't read anything since on my Kindle because I keep rereading Launch, making more notes and implementing as I complete a reread.Has Launch worked for me? Well, I'm not a millionaire yet, and I might ever be, but that isn't the point. The point is that Jeff's book connected with me on a level that allowed me to see that the strategies behind Launch that have worked -for many who wrote reviews on this page, if fact- and that they aren't just known in the darkened hallways within the secret societies of Internet marketing gurus. (kidding, y'all)But that there are some very straightforward strategies that work. And they work in almost any industry. I haven't fully launched a new product, but I have experimented with the 'Pre-Pre' and have seen the early collaboration Jeff promised that's helping me give my readers exactly what they want.If you're not an Internet millionaire (yet) and you have a few bucks to spend on this book, take it from me, there - is - hope. There is hope, and it's contained in Jeff's book, Launch.#ReadThisBook #ActOnWhatYouRead

Transformational for Tiredless Entreprenuers in Need of Strategy and Inspiration
I am thrilled that Jeff Walker finally decided to write this book because it helped me discover his work and what he is doing to help thousands of entrepreneurs. This book is a fantastic tool to help us navigate the murky waters of online marketing. The book came out just at the right time, as I'm getting ready to launch my first book and complementary products. I found Launch incredibly helpful, striking a great balance between information and inspiration. What Jeff is sharing is not completely new to me as I consider myself a fairly savvy entrepreneur and well read on all things related to building a business and marketing products. However, the biggest benefit, at least for me, were the compelling stories of other entrepreneurs who had struggled to gain traction in the past and finally found the perfect blueprint that worked for their unique product and situation. I appreciated Walker's candor and helpfulness, outlining various paths to launch a product, depending on one's specific scenario. And although Launch doesn't spell out the step-by-step how-to process, it's easy to connect his formulas to widely available information on the internet or books many of us, entrepreneurs, should have read before. If you are looking for a step-by-step, tactical manual, look elsewhere. But if you are someone who needs the inspiration to persevere and the strategic mindset to keep moving forward with a clearer formula in hand, this is the book for you. In my experience, when much of my energy is spent on the creative process, writing and developing content--the latter has been truly a blessing.Bottom line--Launch will help you connect the dots and get a high-level, strategic perspective. It will transform your project if you have an open mind and the willingness to learn and work hard.Thank you, Jeff, for your generosity, both through this book and through all the free content you continue to share beyond the pages of this book. I hope I get o meet you in person one day.

Really good insights shrouded in fluffy stories
I've been following Geoff and his blog for the last month. I wanted to know and understand his formula that he says most in the Internet marketing world have copied. As a digital marketer for 10 years and the owner of two marketing agencies I can affirm that his formula has been copied, and for good reason. The beauty in Jeff's material is that most resources on inbound marketing and lead generation and nurturing do not provide a concise predictable formula with key messages you should deliver and when. Jeff chooses an alternate route and spends most of his time giving you a step-by-step process.Additionally I found it entirely new to hear the language of launching every product and spacing things out so that you are continuously bringing new value to your customer base. I have traditionally believed in stocking your catalog and then building huge content and advertising efforts to drive traffic to the shopping cart. Reading this book will forever change the way I market and help others market too. That said, the reason I couldn't get the book 5 stars is because most of the stories in the book are fairly boring. They're not meaty enough in detail to give you any kind of insights. For the most part they are just doses of case study proof and encouragement. That's how I would define most of the material in this book. Really good insights shrouded in tons of fluffy stories. In fact I bet the entire book could be summarized into a single sheet of printer paper. That's fantastic because it means the formula is simple, but the reading quality wasn't as high as I hoped. It was more than worth the money.
