140 Must Know Meds: Demolish Nursing Pharmacology (Nursing Clinical Essentials): 9781508528166: Medicine & Health Science Books @ desertcart.com Review: Must Own Book for Nurses - I've been a nurse for years and this book is a great refresher and tool to look up medications that you might not always use everyday, but are common medications used in the medical field. It's written and laid out so you can find the medication you need in a hurry. I learn much better when I have a book/material in my hands instead of reading it on a computer and/or having to research it online. A coworker of mine recommended this to me and after looking at her copy, decided to buy a copy for myself. Review: It's Great - I found this book incredibly helpful in breaking down the various medications we are required to learn. The book provides clear explanations and mnemonic devices to help with memorization. Overall, I highly recommend this book to any nursing student or healthcare professional looking to improve their understanding of pharmacology.

I have purchase 21 copies, so far.
I am a nursing instructor, and I LOVE this book for my first-semester student's introduction to pharm. I have even bought second-hand copies for students to borrow. I use the book for prizes and recognizing students' extra effort.

Not as many meds as I would have liked.
I liked the book and it has clear and concise info but it was lacking several of the drugs I needed information on.

Great but not super detailed
It's a great intro to many drugs, but it doesn't tell you a lot about contraindications or details about drug-food etc. interactions. There are some drug-drug interaction details. Good way to become familiar with drugs at an intro level.

Good information but not as useful due to no doses in the book
It gives good information, but no doses were written in so not a good choice for a nurse practitioner student.

If you don't know what acetaminophen is....
I absolutely love this book! This is the first Pharmacology book I order and I'm glad I did. Coming from a person that doesn't even know what the basics meds are (like Tylenoland and ibuprofen) and what they do, it really helps out a lot. I'm a nursing student and I'm excellent in A&P but lack my medication knowledge so this has been a huge help. The book is structured by giving you the med name (generic and trade name) what it can be used for (vTACH, pain, CHF etc.) what pharmacology class it belongs to and what to consider and look at when you give them these meds all in one page so it's short and not intimidating . This really helps if you're a starter, but if you want more advanced knowledge, then you might want to get another book.

Cool!

The book should not be even in print as there are other pharm books with complete information.
