Perfect for one-time use!
I needed some loctite 609 to mount an optic on my Glock. This is the type of product I would probably use once and then what's leftover would dry out on a shelf in the next few years. A small tube of this is perfect for a one-time use such as this. Remember, this number 609 (green) is semi-permanent. Removing fasteners requires heating them up to separate.

Bike BB30 application - be careful!
I use this for BB30 bottom brackets on bikes. The idea is to prevent the inevitable creak. Be careful not to use too much! I think that was my problem on first use. It worked great; no creak. But when it came time to replace the BB due to worn bearings, it could not be removed (with proper tools). I finally had to take a dremel and cut through the metal bearing retainers to cut into the plastic BB housing to get it out! I *think* I didn't damage my bike's BB shell at all...but be careful! Use a tiny amount only. And remember: BB30 bottom brackets are not meant to be removed, other than when replaced. You have to hammer them out, and that means they are not reinstallable.

Come on guys
These bottles are not full when new, this 609 loctite cost $60 from Fastenal, so stop crying, my complaint is the two year expiration date, mine was a year into it with a year to go, this is very strong stuff and has an elasticity, so it never becomes full hard when dry so it works with things that vibrate, stay strong

Trust it with my life
Loctite has never failed me and they are always my go to. If you’re in the market for a retaining compound the loctite is tough to beat. There might be an equal but I doubt there’s better.

Fixed my annoying BB30 problem!
*** I waited until I've ridden 1000+km before writing this review.*** I bought this special Loctite 609 to fix a rattling bottom bracket on my Cannondale CAAD10. The BB30 bottom bracket uses press-in bearings into threadless shells, so the bearing-to-shell surface has to be super tight. On my bike, the bearings weren't a super tight fit so after a while the bottom bracket area would start clicking with every pedal stroke. I've tried everything- fresh bearings, lots of grease, but the clicking would all eventually come back. After some research online it seems like many others have this same problem, and someone recommends the Loctite 609. So I applied a small amount of Loctite 609 to the BB shells then pressed the bearings in, and let it sit overnight. The next day, I put my cranks back on and went out for a ride - no more clicking! After 1000+km of riding in all kinds of weather including rain, the bottom bracket is still rattle-free. Out of curiosity, I tired removing the bearings and they came out in one try! So they don't seize the bearings. That's an excellent product in my book!

It's loctite, it works. The price was good on this bottle, but it took months to arrive from the sellar. In the meantime I sourced a smaller bottle from Acklands-Grainger and got it like 2 months before this bottle arrived.
