a rare luxury
This Rare Hawaiian White Honey from Volcano Island Honey Company is lovely and remarkably different from any other high quality honeys I have sampled. This is not a crystalized honey, but is rather a silky smooth and thickly creamy honey, with a very pleasant, delicate taste and mild sweetness. The scent is not musky, like most honeys, but rather faintly floral. The price is a bit much for the size, and so I do not think I will be repeating this purchase, unfortunately (I really do wish Volcano Island Honey had offered the larger version of this honey at the time of my purchase, so I could have had more of it to enjoy at some value, and for the price of its shipping), but this is a very special honey I do not regret purchasing. Treat yourself at least once. I hope you are fortunate to find the larger jar of this same honey available by then. If so, please go ahead and purchase that larger jar. You will be very happy you did.

I love honey, and I have collected many
I haven't tried this honey, but I have looked at their website and the net weight was only 8 oz. That's $40 a pound!!! I love honey, and I have collected many, many honeys and I have trouble believing this honey could be this wonderful. This strikes me as quality hype as much as it is about quality honey. I collect honey, and even the exquisite, rare Manuka honey of New Zealand costs less. Caveat emptor; Manuka is so sought after that their trade association estimates that about 15 times as much fake Manuka is sold as there is real Manuka produced. Try Leatherwood honey from New Zealand. Not as pricey as Manuka, but unbelievably rich and complex. Also American Locust honey is like nectar if you can get it. Locust blooms, on average, for a week to ten days about 3 years out of every 7 years, so it gets sold out literally overnight. This year I got an email from my source and I immediately bought my 2 pound limit. They sold out in less than 24 hours.

Tastes as expected but lacked the consistent smoothness found in the same brand purchased at Whole Foods. Some separation so figure these are the "seconds".

Rare Honey Is A Rare Treat
This was deliciously sweet and creamy, making it difficult to ration the small amount (required a lot of restraint). Unfortunately (for me) it's too pricey for an 'everyday honey,' but definitely worth the admission to try if you are a honey connoisseur. NOTE: If you like this honey, you have to try 'Breitsamer Rapsflower Blossom Honey.' It's equally as delicious (in my opinion) with a buttery smooth texture, sweet finish, and a gorgeous light yellow color that even resembles butter. It's really that good, which I wasn't expecting, AND the rapsflower blossom honey is far more affordable. Definitely worth looking into especially if you love creamy, delicately flavored honey.

Tropical traditions white raw rare Canadian honey
It's alright but tropical traditions makes a raw white honey. That's 100% better with a larger amount as well as better price. It's harvested once a year in the summer time in Canada. So it's also "rare" 17oz for $14.99 - $21 depending on sales. This is 8oz at 29.99, this is so not worth it in any way. I will never repurchase this again. I've been using Tropical Traditions for years. Bought this to compare, there is no comparison. They nearly taste the same. You're gonna do yourself a favor by getting tropical traditions white rare honey over this. Same tasting product but better. Lower cost more product. I regret buying this. I thought it would be so different than the one I have been using for years.
